I just got the call for J-term as well. I was almost at the point of giving up. It took 3.5 weeks for me to get the call after mine went complete. So for those still waiting out there, don't give up hope, I'm pulling for you!

Like many of you, I am going to be dreading every email I receive from Monday morning and on this week.

Let's hope last Monday isn't a trend (massive amount of dings) and instead becomes a "good news event."

Hi guys,

I've heard that the longer you wait to apply to Columbia the harder it is...when would you consider it "too late"?

End of Nov? December? January?

I'm trying to decide if I should hurry and get it in this weekend or take a few more weeks.

No real difference if you get it in by mid December...January 5 at the latest. Because Regular Decision apps are not reviewed until December anyway, applying today just means it will sit on a desk longer. The apps, however, are reviewed in the order they are received. After January, a lot of the class is filled so it becomes more competitive everyday after.

No news yet...really painful waiting...

Received Interview on Oct 13, Interviewed Oct 27, interview completed Oct 31, and yet today still no news.... the other 2 colleagues in my firm both received feedback 1 week after their interview feedback was completed....

Well I at least have some update for people who applied at the deadline. I talked to one of my recommenders who said that he was contacted late last week with followup questions from Columbia, and my app went Interview complete over 3 weeks ago. I think this combats the theory of decisions being made quickly post interview and then adcom waiting to issue dings in batches, since obviously they are still actively reviewing files 3 weeks post interview. Fingers are crossed that we all get some good news this week, I'm so sick of jumping at every email and phone call.
