Hi! I’ve been waitlisted in R1. Does anyone know when they will start accepting people off the waitlist? Like after R1 deposit deadline, or together with R2 admits? Will it hurt my chances if I tell my AO that I need the decision by a certain date?

I was waitlisted last year. What I saw was that is is quite random and mainly depends on the reason someone is waitlisted. If it is diversity then someone with similar background who may back out at any time will release a seat for someone with similar background on the waitlist. Or if it is a lower GMT score then someone on waitlist could score higher and get the seat then. It is on a rolling basis, and the waitlist can be upto December even... Posted from my mobile device
