Looks like only two candidates got called up for interviews in round 4... seems much harder to get shortlisted in round 4

Gamen sorry for your disappointment. Yes, things get a lot more competitive as the round progress. Especially for ORM.

Thank you.

I heard ~500 slots are already filled even before round 4 is finished. Is this usual? Assuming 510-520 slots for J term classes, this seems very unbalanced.

I frankly don't know why they perpetuate this idea that they moderate the number of seats for each round. It's definitely more difficult to get in in the fourth round and I'm not sure about the exact statistics that you are referencing but I know that at this point we're just looking to put the ribbons and the bows on the class. Maybe a couple of 780 GMAT people or super diverse highly underrepresented citizenship.

There's still a couple other alternatives for January batch, Jan HEC and Ivey (March), Columbia J-term. Details in blog.

Thank you for the information. Low rate of acceptance in Round 4 might not be a bad thing considering I am waiting to hear back with regards to the waitlist!

Hi Gamen,

As you mentioned, 500 spots are already filled by Round 3 so I expect that only certain profiles will be of interest to the Admissions Committee in the final round.

Nonetheless, Round 3's deposit deadline is this week and Round 4's decision week is in early May so hopefully we will hear back by then! All the best!

Hi Folks,

Insead application asks for TOEFL or IELTS score for Non-native english speakers. I read there FAQ document which also also mentions that in case the language of instruction for the courses in our Academic degree was English, we can also submit "Our university degree transcripts which clearly mention the language of instruction as English". Just wanted to confirm that my understanding is correct.

Hi, you are absolutely right! If your university’s language of instruction is english, you just need to ensure that the academic transcript you upload when submitting the form should clearly state that.

Excerpt from the INSEAD website:

“You can also demonstrate fluency in English with a university degree (a minimum of one full-time academic year with a diploma received from that host university) where all courses were taught exclusively in English. (An exchange programme does not qualify.) If your university degree was exclusively taught in English but in a non-English speaking country, please make sure that your transcripts clearly mention the language of instruction is English to complete your application.”

Feel free to join the January 2020 thread if you are applying for the 20D intake!

It seems that you have a very very high chance of getting admitted once you've got the interview?

A fair number of people have been waitlisted or even rejected after getting into the interview stage so nothing is guaranteed.

That being said, it is important to stay positive as you wait for news! As long as you have done your best for your application and your interviews, I am sure the +33 call will be coming your way. Cheers!

It's about a 55 to 60%% chance Meredith107 for outright acceptance after the interview

If your transcript does not mention that your course was taught in English, you can alternatively submit a certificate from your institution stating that you were taught in English.

Hi Guys,

In terms of global prestige, do you think there is a difference between INSEAD and LBS? I hear that LBS is better for finance and INSEAD better for consulting, is that the case? I know there are other things such as duration and where you want to live that need to be weighed up but on a completely objective scale of prestige and ability to entice the largest pool of top companies, which name is better?

Hi strjd,

Great question! MBAPrepCoach shared a very comprehensive article on this so do take a look: https://find-mba.com/articles/mba-schoo ... ead-vs-lbs

I have also PM-ed you a link to the https://gmatclub.com/chat group for candidates who are still deciding between B-Schools. The chatroom contains several discussions on INSEAD vs LBS so it should be a valuable resource for you. Hope this helps!
