BUWAHAHAHAHA, AHAHAHA, AHH. OK, just kidding. I asked the same question in the Haas ambassador thread and kryzak said either/or will do.

Either one will do, but to save you your word count, "Haas" will be fine.

Thanks guys.

A LOT of people in RD 1. Good luck to all. I just visited Haas last week, and enjoyed it a lot. I didn't get to explore the area as much, but it really looked vibrant. Thanks again for your time, kryzak.

Let me know if you guys have any questions about my visit.

I got an email from Haas adcom today. It said that my application is under review and an attested copy of my UG diploma certificate may be required later in the process. Looks like they don't need it at this point but may ask for it IF (a big if indeed) I'm invited for an interview. I hope this is something positive. Kry, your $.02, please...

Moderator - Please add me to the list. I submitted my App on 11/4 and received a confirmation of submission the same day.

No further communication with HAAS yet.

I can't remember which school it was last year (you can probably do a search) where if they asked you for an official transcript or something, that means you got an interview... But don't worry too much about it, and don't fret too much. Haas' interview invites are very random.

I have to go with Haas, since it saves you a couple of words on the word limit.

As much as I like Berkeley (and the time I spent there in grad school), that 11.5% acceptance rate scares me. I think that's the lowest rate besides Stanford. Why do the bay area schools have such limited enrollment...

Expected ROI is so low.

Good luck guys though, I'm hoping for UCLA and Kellogg here :) .

Scares the sh*t out of me too. But you can't beat the location. After living up north for a bit, I don't feel like shoveling snow or tracking through it to get to class.

I think the question is, why do bay area school have small class sizes (500 for Haas, 730ish for Stanford)?

Employment history [#permalink]
I'm taking a break for the essays and started on the other part of the application.
For the employment history, there's no word limit on the responsibilities and reason for leaving section. How did you guys treat that section?

Should it be short and generic, or should it be more in depth?
How did the responsibility section differ from what you have in the resume?

On my resume, I focused on my accomplishments. On the Web form, I added some general responsibilities in addition to the accomplishments from the resume. So, a little more details to make use of the given space.

I'm not quite sure why Haas is so limited. The b-school isn't that small, and I could think they could spill over to other classrooms (the campus has like 30k+ enrollment). I think Haas is trying to stay selective. That in combination with the part-time MBA program (which probably takes faculty time), and probably a bigger $$$ maker for the school.

there are two answers I've heard when I asked this question:

1. Haas (and Stanford) wants to keep the class size small to foster a tight knit and collaborative culture (like Tuck).

2. There isn't enough faculty to expand to 300 or 360 students for Haas (nor room) because of the undergraduates (which outnumber our MBAs 2 to 1), part time, and executive MBA. Once we have a new building and more professors, we will probably expand to 300 or 360.
