Only 6 business days until Super Saturday, though the official decision date is 1/27 or so. Does anyone know if thats the final decision date, or the interview decision date?

mindruna - Invited to SS Interview (12/22)
MBAngst - Invited to SS Interview (12/10)
SolarMBA - Invited to SS Interview (12/17)
Chickmagloor - Invited to SS Interview (12/23)
rosav - Invited to interview (1/8)

So they take 3 months to decide who gets an interview, and then 2 weeks to decide which of those interviews are accepted? Sounds like getting interview is a strong sign then?

I think 25-30% get interviewed and 10-12% get offers.

I just checked BW. Its 24% last year for interviews. Given GC's tendency to represent the top end of the population, one would expect a higher-than-average interview rate. So 19% is below overall average, and GC's average from last year.
Also, consider that no one on BW or GC has received an invite since mid/late Dec. This would lead to the assumption that there ARE more interviews to go out. But SS is only a week away, so it doesn't seem likely.

I don't know what to feel anymore. Part of me whats to write it off, but historical data indicates there is still a chance.

I think they really need to update their blog to provide at least some idea of whats happening, especially since what they said in their last posting didn't really seem to happen. At least saying we're back from the holidays and finalizing R1 or somehting.

Congrats locks.

And i do agree that getting an interview is a very strong sign. To make a decision on a candidate within 2 weeks of been interviewed (in fact just 10 days after SS), does indicate that HAAS interviews only the strongest applicants. So a fairly good interview can get you into HAAS. All the best to all who got invites.

With Rd2 applications also been submitted in early Dec, i do feel that HAAS does look at both Rd1 and Rd2 applicants before making a decision to invite. Thus actually Rd1 applicants are also competing with Rd2 applicants too, thus increasing overall competition for Rd1. We could be seeing a lot of waitlists this year for Rd1 especially with Rd3 just round the corner in Feb.

( And the thing which bugs me the most... I kinda knew this might happen, after seeing prev year statistics. And actually thought my chances would be better at Tuck rather than HAAS in Rd1. But HAAS won me over with its academics, clean-energy initiatives etc. I took the risk, even though i am historically very poor at gambling:-))

Hey everyone, don't y'all give up hope yet.

Many speculations and rumors running wild right now, and it's completely understandable. All I can do is keep on emphasizing that there are more interviews (both SS and non-SS) will go out now that the office is back from break, and that the interview is the FINAL piece of information used for the admissions decision, which is why offers can be determined in 2 weeks while it takes 3 months to send out all the interviews. If you think about it, the AdCom has to consider your:

- GMAT/GPA
- Rec Letters
- Essays (this is a biggie)
- Work Experience (resume, other supplemental questions)

before extending an invite, which will take time especially since Haas prides itself on having at least 2 people on the Adcom read through your application before making any decision (invite or ding). Then the interview results will be added in for a final decision.

interview invites can go out all the way until almost the R1 deadline, so it's not just for Super Saturday.

Hope that clarifies things.

Good luck!

Congrats locks! Looks like they are still sending invites! Good luck to all waiting.

I had asked my SS interview to be changed to an alumni interview and was surprised to see a reply yesterday, considering offices opened yesterday and they probably had a huge email backlog. I wish I were attending SS, but I can't. Hopefully it doesn't hurt my application.

Congrats to stopper5 and locks!

don't worry, not going to SS will not hurt your chances. But I think the SS experience is something that one should see first hand if you can.

Thanks kryzak! I received the SS invite before the holidays, though I switched to an off-campus only recently. I would have gone if not for work commitments. I definitely don't want to burn bridges before I leave.

Hey guys...Not sure if I fall in the same lot. I am an R2 applicant for EWMBA (Part time course). I submitted my application on 5th Jan(due date  ). Today I got a mail saying that I am invited for an interview. Any idea how the process works for EWMBA?
