not wanting to speculate, but I think we don't hear by friday, it's probably not a positive sign... from other folks who were invited 8-11th, there were slots up to the 27th, which means they are already considering people for interview up to that point. My opinion is that whoever gets an invite will be last minute stragglers who were borderline considerations.

I'm trying to be realistic, but hey but I'd love to be wrong!

Does anyone know if Haas admits people without an interview, or does every admitted individual go through a super-sat/alum/student interview ?

I am planning to apply for R3. Is R3 is very competitive as comapred to R1 or R2?
Can anyone let me know what % of the students are admitted in R3?

Honestly, not feeling optimistic about Haas at this point (R1 Applicant/no interview yet).

Interesting how that post suggests that SS is for applicants outside of Cali. I thought the story was mostly Bay Area applicants were expected for this year?

Yeah, SS being mainly for out-of-towners gives me a little hope again.

Here's something else. One of their student ambassadors, Meredith, was telling me that she didn't get an invite for SS and thought it was over. They invited her two days before notification deadline and she obviously got in. So I still say hope is there.

R2 applicants - has ur app status changed?

Mine still says Recieved.

I think everyone's application changes to under review at a different time. Mine took 1 month.

Mine is srill Received. Its over a month now. :(

This post is mostly for the benefit of R1 applicants. As the days roll on by, the chances of admits are getting slimmer for the uninterviewed. Haas was/is one of my top choices and I'd certainly like to re-apply next year. This might be a good time to discuss with others what their plans are should they not get into a school of their choice/any school. As for me, I am 29 already and have a low GPA story. Other than that, I believe I have a strong profile, and compelling stories that cover a range of issues (award-winning author, overcoming a physical disability, leadership awards at work, headed an international non-profit, led various climbing expeditions around the world, etc).

I find it hard to believe that an avg. GMAT and sub-par GPA go such a long way in invalidating your candidacy. It could be that my goals and past experiences do not coincide to well (or for long enough). I have an engg background and want to move into social enterprises. I guess I need more experience, so I intend to return to India (I am indian) and work for social enterprise and re-apply in 2011 (for class of 2014 -- so far off!!).

Other people with similar stories, what do you folks plan? I am certainly worried to quit a six-figure job to work for a 20th of my current salary, but I believe if I want to get into a top-3 with abysmal grades, I gotta do something spectacular. Can't do that at my current job but can do it if I return to India. Talking to other people with similar plans and restrictions (age-wise, career-wise) who want to take a leap of faith would certainly help my nerves :)

I'm not really in your position but it would definitely be ballsy to quit your job and pursue your dreams. I would respect it, especially if I read about it on an admissions essay next year.
