Got an email from the admissions office talking about what's still ahead for R1 and R2 applicants. Sounds like R1 people will still keep hearing through January and R2 invites will start going out later that month. Plus their office will be closed from the 22nd to the 7th so wouldn't expect much movement then.

I just received the same e-mail I guess.

"We have been extending interview invitations to Round 1 applicants, and we will continue to send out Round 1 interview invitations on a rolling basis through most of January. Since we review applications within each round in random order, there is no significance to the date on which you may receive an interview invitation. Most Round 1 applicants from the United States will be invited to interview on campus during our "Super Saturday" event on January 16th . Applicants living outside the US will have the opportunity to interview with an alumni interviewer in their country of residence. Round 2 applicants will begin receiving interview invitations beginning in late January. Please note that interviews are by invitation only. The Round 3 application deadline is February 2, 2010."

Just to be clear, I have NOT received an interview invite and I applied on Dec 10, the last day of round 2, though I just received this e-mail approx an hour ago.

All this chatter is making me anxious about Rd 2 interview invites. From the e-mail we all received above, should/have any Rd 2 applicants received an interview invite as of yet?

yeah, last year, they called everyone on the 27th and send notices on the 28 in the morning. It feels like they called everyone yesterday and dings/wl are today. I mean, if they interviewed 230 people from R1, and half get in, how long does it take to make 115 phone calls?

Hope I'm wrong as well.. I'm just trying to stay busy at work and not think too much about this.

If anyone got a call today, speak up!

Longer than you think, since not everyone is next to their phone, and often times they have to make multiple calls (I've heard some admits they tried 4-5 times before they reached them). Then throw in 5-10 minutes of chatter, and other paperwork (like sending out an admit package), it does take a while.

Funny how you all found the "Battle Royale 2". I should read it to see how accurate it is 2 years later. :wink:
