my app says incomplete, anybody know where I can figure out what is missing? I'm pretty sure my recommenders havent submitted their recs yet, but I want to be sure that I am not missing anything else.

Thanks.

Have you submitted the application yet? You can use the "Check Your Application" feature to determine if any required fields are blank, but the status of the application will say "Incomplete" until you actually submit the application. Once you hit the button to submit, you will have the opportunity to review a pdf of your application before paying the fee and sending it off to adcom.

Yup I submitted it. It says all material required has been submitted successfully. The recommenders have not submitted their part yet so that's probably it. I'll just push them a little to get it in and see if that changes the status.

Have any deferred ED applicants heard from CBS at all? The admissions decision mentioned that CBS may reach out to deferred candidates for more info. Radio silence on my end...

I just got an interview invite today. RD applicant, had not expected this. Now I am kind of clueless as to how to choose someone and how to prepare. Tips from you pros would be appreciated!!

Wonder what it takes to get dinged after an interview though...lol

So seeing that we've had two November apps receive invites, is it safe to assume that if you submitted in early October that you are toast?

I wouldn't say that because it does seem like they can invite you to interview at any point in time....

Congrats - Definitely not a pro but be sure to check out clearadmit's wiki pages for a list of questions and accounts of interview experiences. The word is that Columbia is very concerned with career plans and how hirable you are. Make sure you can articulate realistic and well thought out st/lt goals and be prepared to answer backup plan questions.

Good luck!

Fellow deferred applicants,

As the official CBS thread becomes increasingly dominated by RD hopefuls, I thought that we could use a separate space to commiserate, voice our unique concerns and track each others' progress. Hope to keep this thread active in the build-up to the February 1 deadline for final decisions.

I've kicked things off by asking a question that I have not been able to get a straight answer to, and am curious to get your thoughts: namely, how do the chances of a deferred ED applicant stack up against an RD applicant?

As the focus of this thread starts to shift toward RD applicants, I've started a separate thread for deferred ED applicants:

the-cbs-2011-ed-deferred-applicants-thread-106676.html

Figured this would give us a place to voice our common concerns, answer each others' questions and track our progress in the build-up to February 1.

Created a profile to give you a little hope (since I had mostly lost mine)...

submitted 10/6, intvw 12/2, intvw complete 12/8, accepted yesterday (12/20)
ED applicatant, US based, 700 gmat, 3 yrs WE finance, 3.9 state school

Good luck!

Thanks for that! Although I am an RD applicant so what I meant was more of those who have not yet received an interview invite. Although, it does seem like you can get an invite at ANY point in time, so we will see!
