I think they have had to deal with high rate of applications submitted during the deadline week. The ad-com did tell me that i should hear this week, which may be same for you as well. Did someone call you, asking if you wanted to be considered for EMBA?

Well, I applied J-term and here's my situation.

app. submitted 9/11
interview invi. 10/03
feedback submitted 10/14
waitlisted 10/18

All of my friends including CBS alumni became very surprised at my getting waitlisted in only 4 days. Also I was quite quite sure that I'd get either a ding or call from the school asking me if I wanted to do EMBA.(I had a couple of calls from other schools) Insead, I got waitlisted. Don't have a clue what to do ;(

Though I didn't get a call for EMBA but I don't like nor do I understand why they do this? I am glad Columbia is giving applicants alternative options but they need to be more transparent about these options.

They should have been more straightforward and said either "You're accepted to our full-time program but we also have an excellent EMBA program that could be potentially more suitable for you" or "We cannot accept you to our full-time program but we would be glad to offer you our EMBA program"

Well no use worrying but wait at the moment. Best of luck everyone.

Let the waiting begin... I was told 2 weeks +- 1 week for results and it'll stretch to 4 weeks +-1 week as they get to more applicants that applied closer to the deadline. Hope that helps alleviate any concerns out there. From my understanding, there really isn't any rhyme to the reason. I'm sure there is some expedition of high value applications (merit-based scholarships perhaps), otherwise it seems like there's simply limited hours in the day and only so many admissions personnel.

Best of luck! Not sure if we deserve faster treatment but jterm classes start in a few months. It'd be helpful to able to start lookin for housing as soon as we can (if accepted ofc）
