I only sent a follow-up commitment email as life didn't change much over the past couple of months!

Yea I hear ya. If i have to pick out some changes in life, that'll be noticeably lower productivity at work and significant improvement in essay writing!

If I may ask - what exactly goes in such a letter? I think most of us got our interview in November, so aside from Bonus amount, what could be new? I did send an email with updated gmat....

My update letter is mainly about my new job. I started in Sept 2011 so didn't really have much to talk about in the initial application. But other than that, nothing new. Plus, I didn't even get a bonus since I'm too new to be entitled to that haha~~

I know someone who is a CBS alum and asked him the same question. He said that it will be a good idea to carefully analyze your application and see where you feel the weak points are and address them. Mention some stuff that you have done to make up for those weak areas and re-iterate your commitment to CBS.

I was lucky that this person was willing to go over my application and provide feedback on where he thought I could work on.

Hope this helps and best of luck to all of us. It's been a long wait and getting more intense everyday.

Thanks arsalanask. Did you send your letter to the general apply@gsb email or to someone specific in the adcomm?

I sent it on apply@gsb and also marked it to the point of contact mentioned in the deferral letter.

I think it was towards the end of Jan that they started to send out dings to deferred applicants.

Right, a couple of acceptances early on in the process and then 100% dings

Let's just hope that the deferred candidates next year won't be saying the same thing about us!!

But to be honest, now that it's been over 3 months since submitting, I've all but lost hope.... I still really want to get this acceptance, but for now I'm relieved to know that I'll finally know the fate of my app for sure by the end of the month... (oh wait unless you put me on the official waitlist)!

Let's hope this does not happen! Don't think any deferred candidates on the forum was put to waitlist last year though.
