If you are on the wait list for a consortium school, is it basically impossible to receive a consortium fellowship from them?

Not necessarily. Last year some people got calls telling them that they had become admitted from the waitlist, admitted to the Consortium, and received a fellowship- all at the same time. Keep your hopes up :)

So I am confused. How could they have decided on fellowships this week if I just interviewed at Darden this Monday? Should I assume I didnt get a fellowship?

Darden won't release their admission decisions until March 20th. They will notify admitted students about Consortium fellowships after that date (later in March). This is what the AdCom person that works with the Consortium students at Darden told me when I visited campus and she is currently on vacation this week. I do not really know who ends up making the decisions about fellowships at Darden though.

Darden never called me, but I checked the status link last week and found out I was dinged. I was dissapointed in them for their lack of sending an email or phone call in that regards. Don't want to rain on your parade, but you may want to check there.
