To those of you waiting for that invite:

DO NOT STRESS (yet). Some come VERY fast, some take longer. I got mine in like 5 biz days or something wicked-quick. Others took longer.

I've been reading some of rhyme's posts from last year. I'm surprised he's still alive.

The guys at berkely said that career progression is very important...so show all those promotions. Directly said that at an info session during summer 2006.

it eats up space, though, so that's a downside of showing all tbose promotions,

I added only 1 entry for my employer. But in the "Job Duties" area, showed the promotions by listing

Current Duties(Senior Consultant)
....

Junior Consultant
...

and so on.

I think I should probably not share that. I sort of got the impression that they might be giving it to candidates with a short turn-around time on purpose. I'll just say it's another 400 words and on a topic that isn't weird or surprising. No "what matters most" or "design a ppt." At least, that was the case last year.

Has anyone ever done an off-campus interview with Cornell or is planning to do one? How does Cornell look at that? Don't panic, I haven't received an invite yet... but I was just curious... because I am in Europe and I don't think making a flight to NY is possible for me anymore... but I have done a campus visit a few months ago... absolutely great place.

When I talked to an adcom in Atlanta she said they understand getting to Ithica is not an easy task even for US citizens. To me, if a school does not offer weekend interviews then it should not matter.

Does Cornell really offer that? I know they seem to have nice working hours from 9:30 till 4 pm... I wish I had those hours... Hmm so they are ok doing phone interviews or through Alumnis? Because I did hear from people that Cornell is a bit touchy with visits and all, and a campus visit is quite strongly recommended..which I did but another one before Christmas seems quite unlikely unless I am looking to quit;) Oh well.... I will see if I even get lucky for an invite....

Cornell is super yield sensitive. I love Ithaca and hope to go back someday, but it is small and isolated - relatively. So they like to hear a little campus love. If you do get to do an alum/phone interview, waxing poetic about the beautiful campus and lovely Ithaca is a good idea. You've already been there, so that's good.

I bet you do. You've had that avatar up there for a long time now. What brought you to Itaca in the first place?

Wow. You guys are fast.

I got it too. I wonder if it's almost mandatory to be accepted into the school.
