What is your greatest example of leadership and what personal qualities helped you succeed in that role? Same 400 word limit, due 10 days after the question is received.

They are so damn deceptive the way they always just show number of applicants and number enrolled (and not number accepted) and then they say things to Solaris like "we only accepted one out of nine applicants". Yeah, if your yield was 100%!! It really irritates me.

They told me their average GMAT was up 10 points....and handed me a brochure that said "Median GMAT 700"....but the mean GMAT is the average. I wanted to give them a math lesson ;)

Are you guys sending official GMAT scores from GMAC to Johnson as part of your application? Or does Johnson only require unofficial scores until an offer of admission is made? The website doesn't seem to be very clear on this and it seems to be taking 4-5 days for the admissions office to respond to e-mail queries.

Did you ever get an answer to this? I'm wondering the same thing.

That's a 23% jump in applicants!

Johnson wants a copy of your score report (PDF), but no scores need officially be sent until an offer of admission is made. At least this is what I was told.

Thanks. Are you just suppose to email that to them? I don't see anywhere to upload it in the app.

I called them and they said e-mail the PDF to your admissions officer, apparently they assign an officer to each applicant based on the first letter of your last name. They want some documentation of the scores you are self-reporting on the application. I assumed that could only mean a PDF copy of the score report you receive a week or so after the test.

Question. For the Park Fellowship, is that esssay question automatically sent then? or only to those that they first deem good enough.

SECOND. This a big one. Can one use the same subject they used for accomplishment/impact to organization essay question for the Park essay?

I'd imagine the essay is automatically sent as long as you're a US citizen that checked the box on the application. I got the essay a few hours after I submitted so I doubt that anyone looked at it at all. From what the tour guide was saying they consider everyone for it that wants to send the essay in.

I wouldn't use the same exact essay but if you can expand on a specific leadership role within the first essay I think that'd be OK. The first essay was so short and if your experience was complex I'm sure there's a lot more to be said that will be relavent to Park.

Someone mentioned the 99% student placement rate for summer internships at Johnson earlier on this thread or elsewhere on the board (was that you IHateTheGMAT?).

While that sounded pretty impressive at first, an alumnus I spoke to earlier this week said that only half of the students at Johnson typically secure summer internships through on-campus recruiting. The full-time employment situation is similar, with around 50% of the students receiving full-time offers from either on-campus recruiting or internships secured through on-campus summer recruiting.

Just something people need to be aware of.

From the Class of 2007 stats, it breaks down like this...

Source of full-time job offers:
- on-campus recruiting (30%)
- 2006 summer internship from on-campus recruiting (24%)
- 2006 summer internship from other sources (9.4%)
- off-campus job search (26%)
- school-facilitated program (2.2%)
- Johnson school contact (8.6%)

Class of 2008 Internships:
- on-campus recruiting (45%)
- off-campus job search (35%)
- school-facilitated program (8%)
- Johnson school contact (13%)

I wonder how this compares with other similarly ranked schools? It seems like most other schools don't report these kind of stats.
