There appear to be quite a few GMATClub applicants WL-ed this year. I got off the WL last year and will be hosting a chat to discuss strategies. Details will be forthcoming. Please let me know if you have a time preference. Based on experience from prior years, there likely won't be all that much movement until spring.

R2 applicant here...I have not received any info from the adcom yet, what does it mean? Are all the invites for R2 sent out? I submitted my app on the very last day....
Is there a hope for me?

Since it's a web-based client, there is no need for anyone to download any type of software.

Will u be able to tell me if all the R2 invites are sent out?
I have not heard anything from the adcom so far.
I am an R2 applicant (international as you can make out from my profile) and submitted my app on the last day of the deadline.
Is there a chance that I hear something after the holidays?

Sorry. I know the scope of this thread is more toward applications/admissions, however, I'm not involved with the admissions process, so can't be much help with respect to application questions (outside of my experience last year. I was a R1 applicant).

applied R1 right on the deadline-10.5. And I've received my invite (on 11.17) exactly a month before the decision notification date (12.17) and interviewed on 12.01-
with this in mind, I think you should still have a couple of weeks of time to get an invite- little early to start getting worried I guess- best of luck!

Hi goingon,

What is the correct etiquette to say for waitlist? Normally it is congrats for admits or commiseration for dings. How do you feel about WL and what can you do to get off it apart from praying?

I am a R2 and await for interview invite, getting a bit nervous as some other R2 folks have received their invites already. So it might look bleak for my Johnson hope. Time to finish off some more R2 applications at other BSchools.

In the case of Cornell for instance, background checks this year were literally a week before classes started.

Can someone elaborate on the background process check with Cornell
which company do they use? Also do they call Recommendors only? I used the Recommendors from my previous company as i have only been at my current company for about 7 months and i haven't told them about my plans for Bschool. How would they verify about my current company if my last 3 months i have been a contractor for them( i originally started working as a permanent employee, but the company recently was bought out and my department is turning over the responsibilities to the "new" owners.) ? So i presume my old company will show my employment dates for four months and then the last couple of months i have been a contractor for them... so i wouldn't show up on the new companies records... How do i handle this? Can i give the backrgound company my managers information and he can verify my employment?
