Cornell is not taking anyone below 325 gre it seema

They sent me an interview below 320.

Trying to understand the situation currently will be difficult. Some people with GRE 325 and above are yet to be called

Because it’s not always about test scores. I called Cornell and they said that they don’t have a minimum and it’s about having holistic profile

Yea its hollistic and yes they will obviously have some below that with other things stronger in profile but the majority it seema from this group atleast do have high scores though sample size could be small so

maybe being selective given the bad job report in 2024 and expected furthur decline in 25 probably driven by internationals. being selective in who they hire

This is exactly it. I heard the same thing from someone at one of the schools. This year test scores are not the main priority, it’s placement rates.

I didn’t hear back from UCLA yet or usc or tepper

Only Cornell and UNC. So maybe stats could’ve mattered at those schools I don’t know

Cornell also doesn’t report gre scores so in some ways a lower gre score isn’t the end of the world if you think about it too.

A girl on this forum got in with a 2.9 and 306 gre.

Personally man, I suspect what’s happening is that they want to make sure that you’re going to get a job in America, and not be upset if something goes wrong in recruiting. Recruiting right now is really really tough. I have tested the lateral market (even though I don’t need H1B) it’s still tough.
