I signed up too :)! And my deposit is sitting in the outbox for the mailman...I'm nervous about it. Haha nerve-wracking to finally commit -- especially before Darden Days. I love the school but still!

Doing the assessments too. We'll see how those go...

I got accepted too but thinking about taking a new job opportunity and reapplying to school next year. Does anybody know how turning down an offer of admission this year will affect an admission decision for next year?

is there a reason why you're not considering deferring the admission till next year?

What are the odds of that happening, though? I e-mailed the folks at Darden asking for a deferral but haven't heard anything back.

Deferrals are rarely accepted and typical acceptable cases relate to military or medical reasons. I tried to make a deferral request to Admissions anyways and they told me the same exact thing. I'm just wondering if my chances would be the same, better, or worst, given that I previously got accepted but turned down their offer.

I asked the Darden student who was in contact with me after my acceptance. He didn't know the answer so he forwarded my email to Admissions. They got back to me the next day telling me the news.

I faced the same decision 2 weeks ago. I would think that if you could justify to Darden that by declining this year you are making yourself a better and more rounded candidate they would review your application again without any negative sentiment. If it is work related, I imagine you should probably spend 2 years in that role before applying again. How much will you really have learned between May and November when you apply again?

To make the decision I ultimately looked at the new position that was offered and considered if I applied again in 2 years with this new experience would I be able to obtain a better job upon graduation or would it still be relatively the same. If it's the same why defer any longer? You went through the whole life consuming MBA application process for a reason.

Just my two cents

As for deferring, I believe Darden only allows you to defer for military service or health reasons.

anybody going to Foxfield? I already got my bowtie:) the event is sat, 24th.
You can ask any student to purchase a ticket for you. I believe this year they are $50 for access to the tent with booze and food, and you must purchase through Darden.

Foxfield is awesome. Get your searsucker, pastels, and madras out for one of the best day drinking events, ever. I didn't go to UVA, but the last two years I've lived in DC and my friends and I made a weekend out of it.

R3 applicant here. F/27/710/5 yrs WE corp communications.

Have to say I'm really surprised by the fact that people are already getting interviews, that's really quick! Also, on the website, it says for R3 interviews begin on April 22nd. I assumed that was the date we start hearing.

Anyway nothing as yet and nervous!

No kidding, me too! I went to UVA undergrad and have a horrible transcript. Hoping strong GMAT can make up for it...

Has anyone who interviewed round 3 heard back at all? I just interviewed, and on the paper they gave me it said that they would try to let us know before the admitted students day, which is [strike]March[/strike] April 31. Anyone think this is actually a possibility?

Long time lurker, first time poster.

I too am a 3rd round interviewee. I interviewed on Monday April 12th as early as possible in hopes to hear back soon after. (I too was told that Darden is going to "try" to nortify all 3rd round applicants before Darden Days.) The interview went well but I have yet to hear anything.

When I signed up there were only interview slots for April 12,13,19 & 20. I'm assuming they'd try to interview early in the week and review the applicants later. I'd be very surprised if they notified before all the interviews were over.

My bet/guess/hope is that we'll hear sometime on Thursday or Friday. Otherwise it would be very difficult to make Darden Days.

3rd rounders keep us posted! I'll be sure to post once I hear.

I'm a third round Interviewee too. I interviewed on 13th April and am patiently waiting for a miracle. Miracle with respect to the turnaround time for this whole application for me. Applied: 31st March (11.30 pm), called for interview on April 8 amd interviewed on 13th April.

Top public schools have less grade inflation than top private schools, so I'm not surprised...

Just look at the statistics!

I thought this too, but I recently went to a Darden event and they encouraged people to apply early and defer for two years (this event was for undergrads)... so I know they defer some people!
