Hi,

I just finished my interview a couple of hours ago. It last exactly 30 minutes. I guess they are rushing through their list of international applicants. 23rd was the only day left on their scheduling tool when I last looked at it. They might add dates later on.

The interview was based on the same question - Tell me your story. I structured it by talking about myself, school, undergrad, moved into work exp, then a Why MBA answer, followed by Why Darden.

The interviewer chipped in at the end of that long monologue about what I saw myself doing at the end of my MBA. Gave my explanation. At the end of that she called out that we had five minutes and whether I wanted to ask questions or add something I thought was important.

So I talked about myself and tried to explain what I did outside work. I had no questions, I explained, as I was in frequent touch with students and other adcom members.

We said our goodbyes with a pleasant ha-ha and that was that. Now begins the excruciating month long wait for results. I have decided to make the days fly with plenty of Smirnoff and a trip to Goa!! Salut!

Hi All,

Is there a Accepted at Darden Class of 2013 thread? I couldn't find one and was curious if anyone already created it.

Thanks,

Is this bad meaning bad or bad meaning good?

Just out of curiosity, did your interviewer say that to you?

It is a sign that you have stepped into an alternate dimension in the multiverse.

I had a telephonic interview with adcom member yesterday. However, just after the interview, I got a call from a alum in my city (am an international applicant). He has called me for a small chat session. Is this common that darden interviews you twice ? I dont know what to make of this ?

Still no news, besides a personalized e-mail from Associate Director of Admissions "I was excited to see your application for our second round of admission. Please don’t hesitate to use me as a resource throughout your application process and best of luck to you", which I received exactly a month ago. That is quite strange as I believe I had a strong profile (740, 3.95 GPA, etc.) and strong overall application, which fits Darden.

I guess I'll just have to comfort myself with interview invites from Wharton, Columbia and McCombs. :)

Yes, do not lose hope for sure. As I have indicated before I went through checking last year's discussion and invites were reported until March 17 (decision deadline March 26, 2010).

Im 28, WE - 7 years in consulting, M&A and local investment banking. I come from a Baltic country (small country in Europe), which sends very very few people to the US MBA programs and what probably is the single most significant distinguishing factor that has worked in my favor.

And therefore - as I would definitely add to the diversity during the case method discussions at Darden - I am surprised/ disappointed I have not received even an interview invite yet. I see a good fit with Darden, so, hopefully I will still get my chance to tell my story. :)

Rado where else have you applied to? You have a very good profile. So far i have had radio silence from all schools. Initially i assumed my low gpa had a role in it. but now it seems the quality of applicants is truly phenomenal. Rado if i may ask what is your career goal? Just out of curiosity?
