^^^eh, that doesnt make sense, I do see how you would reach that conclusion. Consider this:
You may have been one of the unaffected
Many people were complaining about a glitch, a day or two would have been sufficient assuming that UVA got it taken care of by then, perhaps it took longer.
More importantly, i doubt a large number of apps came in during this extended period as it was unforeseen. If someone is applying R1 they would have submitted already, if its R2 then they wouldn't be ready.
A school cant extend a deadline by one week the day before to create a sudden influx of new applications.
