One of my recommenders was running late as well. I called Darden on Wednesday to ask if a late recommendation would slip me to round 2 and they said no. Apparently they typically give recommendations a few days grace period. Plus I guess they decided to push back round 1 deadline to Monday.

gotta keep pestering your recs before the due dates... i pestered my rec email/phone till he replied.... i hope he didnt put "shaselai sucks" on my recs :/

Yea I pestered for letters for months this time. He finally got it in half hour before the deadline. So all good to go. Goodluck everyone.

I got my app in last night, my second recommender didn't submit until 11:45 PM I'm a 3.3 GPA (3.9 last 2 years), mid-level state school 710 GMAT 4 years in I.T. consulting/engineering This was my first app ever so I'm not sure how I did on the essays. I focused on storytelling and a personal growth arc in both, while keeping in mind what they were really looking for as per the guidelines.

Unbelievable! My laptop's display went bust at 12:30 AM on the 15th, some 6 hours before the deadline and I gave up on Round 1. And then, this!! I submitted for Round 1 10 minutes ago, thanks to the extended deadline. Not sure how it'll be looked at though as I didn't find anything saying that it was for Round 1. The application doesn't display the Round to which you applied, right?

I'm happy that Darden was able to push back the deadline. On the other hand though, is Darden going to look any favorably to applicants who applied before the first deadline? It doesn't make complete sense to me that I planned out my submission date strategically, so to avoid a deadline rush, then a pushback of the deadline happened. Had I known about this deadline pushback, I would've submitted this weekend, rather than submitting my application a week and a half ago. (though chances are there's not much I will be able to edit anymore). Anyway, I'm just curious.
