Hey guys, I am totally stumped by the Darden essay topics this year (especially the 2nd one)! Does anyone have some extremely good resource describing what Darden wants to see in these 2 essays. A little help would be much appreciated :)

Also can anyone please let me know whether Darden requires the official GMAT score to reach them before the deadline (or will the unofficial score report do and the official score can be submitted if and when accepted)?

I'm waiting on recs to come in, and working on my essays. Need to make some minor tweaks to my resume and finish the online application and residency form (once broken link is fixed). I really need to pick this up if I'm going to make the R1 deadline!

I registered for the Open House for Sep 13 and have just arrived here in charlottesville last night. The campus is really beautiful. And there is a very nice feel in this whole town here. Anybody else going for the Open House tmr?

Don't go to Darden expecting to find a girl! Jeez. Charlottesville is a sausagefest ;)

Yes, I know 29% isn't that much lower than 33% or whatever other top schools are.

EDIT: Did a little research. Darden is low on females, but out of our ultra elite, elite and trans elite clusters, it is not the lowest. Cornell, CMU, Emory, and UNC are all lower.

I have a question regarding the second essay. When it asks for a global event, does that have to be something catastrophical? My main concern is that a global event took place within my company (a global-pharma) that affected and cascaded down to all branches of my company around the entire world. This change has definitely shaped my form of leadership in some way. Does this count as a "global event"?

Think it could work with the proper context on the event. Even an administrative policy change at a global company can be significant if portrayed properly
