I would say it's a possibility, but you'll have to do a bit more of a legwork. All the top consulting firms (M/B/B, as well as numerous others) recruit at Darden and while most students are gunning for offices within the US, it's also possible to go abroad for the summer internship (granted, you'll have to speak the other country's language). One of my buddies got accepted to Bain in Singapore and another one will be going to France (I forget if it was BCG or Bain). A current second-year went to BCG in China last summer and another went to McKinsey in Mexico. The opportunities are definitely there! In terms of interview, if you're going for an international office, chances are the firms will fly you to a central office (i.e. Boston, New York). Chances are, it'll be a 2-day event where the first day is considered your first round. If you pass the first round, you'll stay for an extra night and do your 2nd round interview on the 2nd day. Usually, for the big 3, you're interviewing for the specific office that you chose. So if you indicated Boston as your 1st choice and they grant you that office choice, you will only be interviewing for the Boston office, not the Atlanta office. Other than the big 3, I know Deloitte has more of a "get-accepted-first and then choose your office" mentality, though different firms' cultures vary. I think most companies understand how candidates try to "game" the system by applying to an office that has a strong b-school presence. I would say to just go for the office locations that you want and hope for the best. It's not a guarantee that you'll get to transfer and you'll also have to network with the other location's partners in order to make the switch successful.

I have a question for any current students! (or anyone who can shed light on this):
I would like to request approval for a dual degree with a program outside of UVA. Do you know of anyone who has taken this path and maybe who I should talk to about it?
