Nervous and future - congrats!! Hope to see you both at BDW (blue devil weekend).

A WL is not such a bad thing either, but not the news you'd hoped to hear.

I think we still need to hear from anshugupta and paulk....paul's on the west coast....i wonder if he's even out of bed!! Last year a big decision came out and Pelihu left us all hanging for hours.

Thank you guys for your congrats!
I have a big decision to make.
My admission letter from Duke said that scholarship recipients will find out about the awards in approximately one week from the date of the acceptance letter.

Just interesting to see that there has been one ding reported on admissions411 and thats the only ding that i have seen in all the forums (b-week, a411 and here). There are as many WL's as admits. Its almost as if they decided not to ding anyone and just put everyone on Admit/WL :)

Lots of WL, they must be concerned R2 wont be as competitive as R1 was.

Dosa, you still have Ross (Michigan Football>Duke B-ball).

Lanter1, you still have yale which is an impressive feat given their selectivity this year.

Dosa generally people arent too excited about posting around they got dinged. Thats why so many people have unknown status on Admin411. People run out to tell everyone when they get in and when people get WL they immediately begin to search for advice on how to get off. While a straight up ding ends all hope. A ding bruises everyones ego, you could get into a top school and dinged by another you never would never take over your admitted school, and it still isnt fun to hear. We all want to bat 1.000 on these applications.

Though sometimes its better to get the Ding than WL if you already have a school you prefer. At least that provides some finality to the process. The only way to get off the WL is to show your love for the school and unless thats your dream school its probalby just a slow spiral towards a ding for a lot of WL folks who dont care enough to put in the effort. I know if I was WL by any school after my Kellogg admit that it wouldnt be worth the effort to try to get off, I bet you feel the same way about Duke after getting into Ross. I am sure a lot of WL people who have admits to par or superior schools withdraw immediately and the WL shrinks very rapidly.

I completely agree with your analysis RR. I am guessing a significant number of the unknowns would be dings. But I am just surprised at the relatively high number of WL's as such though and might just support your earlier statement.

Yeah, I will probably say I want to be on the WL but I am not really going to put in a lot of effort to get off the WL (if any). Atleast now, I dont have to make a choice :) (YET!)

Did anyone got a Scholoarship? What is the procedure to find out about the scholarship in Duke?

 yep, heehee. Haas will require it of me too, if I get in.

Met up with some fellow Kellogg admits last night and I'm feeling very positive about Kellogg.

Well congrats on sorta getting in...

I think there is going to be a large spike in excitement towards Kellogg as people get dinged or WL by HBS and Stanford. One guy on the facebook group joined right after getting dinged by HBS.

Did Kellogg require you to finish that course? They seem to not be as focused on quant as a lot of the other top schools, which I like since I am not really planning on finance and more the management side of things.
