i received the email this morning as well and I am off the waitlist and accepted. WOW!!! This throws a wrench in my decision making process.

Wow I am shocked by the all the folks getting off the WL. I wonder if the quality of R1 was much better than R2, so they WL a lot of folks who would have gotten in every other year and were just seeing how R2 would shape up.

I would call this a total landslide day! I cannot believe all of the admits. Incredible, great work everyone...Fuqua might be increasing the amount of admits since they are opening up the new building next year? no...I prefer to think that everyone on this forum is amazing instead.

dosa: so what's it going to be? Whatever you decide, you will be at a great school coming fall. Nothing more sweeter than that. Are you still going to be at GBR? I am hoping you would come to Ross, I need someone to help me with my golf game.

Congrats to all of the admits, and it is awesome to hear of all those who got in off of the WL. The WL is usually associated with purgatory, but you all have shown that it is possible to get accepted after being WL'ed. Great news!

Nc-I am pretty sure it will be Ross. Duke is a great school but I like Ross a little better. I will definitely be attending GBR- though I have not made any reservations...yet (its just a 4 hour drive for me). The only thing sort of concerning about Ross is the availability of jobs for wifey (she is in IT) and seems like Duke is better there. But having said that, she is a consultant and so she is not looking for full time jobs as such. I think even if we do decide on Ross, we will end up staying outside of AA (Canton, Farmington Hills etc) where she can commute a shorter distance to work.

I think I will attend BDW and since my wife has not visited Duke, give her an opportunity to choose as well. It is interesting to see my admit at Duke though- I did absolutely NOTHING- not even a letter to strengthen my case. And still was given an admit. Weird...:)

Honestly- if I end up at either K or W, the decision will be that much easier to make! :)

I am wondering if they had a low yield among the R1 applicants. I am not complaining, but the amount of people off the wl today was amazing. I know when i visited most of the the applicants had duke as their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th school so maybe the yield was low. Either way, an admit is an admit.

Lanter1- I am not sure if yield was the reason as the deadline for R1 deposits must be a few days out (May 1st I think?). I agree with River on this and I feel this is what could have happened- The R2 deadline was Jan 3rd and the R1 decision date was Jan 18th. So they would have had a good idea of the number of R2 applicants and I guess they were up similar to the other schools. So they put out a bunch on WL as they probably felt the increase in R2 could probably mean better quality possibly. And maybe that was not the case. So..all the guys who would have probably gotten in in R1 normally were admitted now.

Or atleast thats what I want to believe :)
