Calling all Duke MMS applicants for 2013 intake

Arts Management, Singapore. Graduating May 2013. I submitted my GRE score..160V, 166Q 5.5AWA

2 internships, one international, 8 months total...and I will be graduating with a 2:1 degree at least...

I'm kind of confused/lost though because I haven't found much information about this program (apart from this v helpful forum of course).

I've got a bachelors of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from India
650 Gmat.
I applied last year, got rejected with an interview, so re-applicant.
will have 11 months of fulltime experience by May next year and also have had a part time job while in college. A little bit of social service as well.

well, that is true, however i got a lot of information through the Duke website, and a keen insight into it through their blogs where they have student writers as well.

I see! you have quite a strong profile, do you have any idea why you got rejected? Yes, I have been reading the student blogs, too.
DO you have any idea when we'll hear back about the interviews etc?

well, I think i messed up my essays, didnt give it it's due, added to which my interview was not too great.


which other colleges have you applied to ?

well about the interview, last time i heard back in about 2 weeks. however they had many more rounds and the turn around was faster, this year since the first round deadline is November, im guessing it might take them longer to get back. either way, 2-3 weeks should be the time.

I only applied to Duke so far :O

I'm currently interning while still going to college, so it's been a little tricky to find the time to actually complete applications and write essays and all.

You mean 2 weeks after the application deadline? Or 2 weeks after sending in application?? I am nervous now..

last year the R2 deadline was 21st December.
I got an interview invite on the 19th of jan.

Hi there, I am also a candidate for the program. I didn't apply during the first round, because there are a lot of things going to happen in the following months with my professional development, so I decided to postpone my application a little bit. I hope I've made a good decision :D As for me:
23-year-old European;
Around 3.5 GPA Law, but it's hard to calculate it, because I've been studying at 3 different universities from different countries for the last 5 years. However, I am expected to graduate in The Netherlands.
GMAT 700 with a balanced score. I thought I should retake it, because I knew I could do it much better, but I changed my mind.
An internship as a day trader and an extended one in the spring, which I have to do in order to cover the requirements for my UG. Also, I am now doing a job for a well-known company, but it doesn't count as an internship.
A senior associate at a young NGO, which is gaining a lot of popularity in my home country.
Good sport profile and other extracurriculars.

I hope that If I am offered a place and If a take the offer, my classmates would be top-notch thinkers. That's maybe the most important thing for me along with the quality of education. But for one year, I am not sure whether a student with non-business related UG would have the chance to fill the knowledge gap he or she needs to make a successful career after graduation. That's why I am still thinking about some 2-year programs offered here in Europe.

applied round 1, we should hear about interviews this week, given that results are out dec 24th

the decision is to be released on the 20th of Dec. well we should definitely hear something in the coming fortnight

I'm planning on applying for r2 but my profile is quite weak so I'm debating if I should or not.

Pretty low GPA, 3.0
My reference comes from an Ivey (UWO) professor and a CA so hopefully it boosts me a bit
Have some reasons for my low GPA score so hopefully all goes well!

nope. i think traditionally duke has released its interview decision on one day, probably a week to 10 days before the decision date.

@ Assolute23: Well if you have solid reasons to back your academic record, and can put it down well on the essay, there is no reason not to give it a shot !

I read in one of the blogs that In 2009 Interview was a part of the process. But in 2010 owing to an overwhelming number of applications the requirement of an interview was waived off and decisions were made solely on the basis of your submitted online application. Can anyone through some light over this matter?

Well I am a re applicant myself and last year we had interviews. The decision for interview is generally sent out a week to 10 days prior the admission release date and people have their interviews as late as 24 hours before the decision date.

Even if declined an interview everyone is generally notified at the same time.
