Hi All,
I am considering the ESMT Jan 21 intake. I have a couple of questions though. I have studied and worked in Germany for about 3.5-4 years and found the language a major issue with job application during my time there. It was, however, an engineering role. How is it w.r.t. post-MBA roles. Highly appreciate your response

RamIyer29,
Glad you reached out!
Knowing a vernacular language DOMINANTLY boosts the chances of employment, job prospects and networking opportunities since post MBA, one needs to interact and address clients and teams.
Furthermore, the language becomes even more vital if one is targeting to venture into consulting or people-centric prospects.
This scenario is prevalent to almost
any good B-school in a developed country in Europe such as Dutch for Rotterdam School of Management in the Netherlands; Spanish for IE Spain, IESE; French for HEC Paris, INSEAD; German for ESMT, WHU, Mannheim, FSFM; Irish for UCD Ireland; Swiss German for IMD Switzerland, University of St. Gallen. etc
Besides, the repercussions of COVID have affected the possible opportunities, exposing the infrastructure and know-how in various industries.
However, the alumni network, career services, geographic location(
It matters! ) and career fairs assist in excelling the target companies and organizations.
These schools do not have the concept of Day-0, Day-1 placements, but rather they conduct career fairs and workshops to break the ice between aspirants and companies on their campus.
I concur that it's THE pivotal decision: in terms of both time and RoI.
Thus, try to connect with current students, alumni, student services, and admission committee to take a holistic call.
