Hey guys!

This discussion thread is for the Admitted Class of 2022 for the Master in Marketing Management and Digital (MMD) Program at ESSEC's Asia Pacific Campus in Singapore. For those who are applying and intend to enroll in the program, please feel free to post on this group if you have any queries regarding the admission process.

I just received an admit and I was looking forward to meeting those who have been admitted in my batch/intend to pursue the program!

Hey Mohit! If you have applied on December 3rd, you should get your result exactly on February 25th. The set deadlines are the exact date they release the results, no sooner or later. Wish you all the very best and hope you receive an admit very soon!

Hey! Do they also have an interview for MMD Singapore at ESSEC?

Hello Surabhi! They actually do not have an interview for the MMD program at ESSEC Singapore. However, I believe it is compensated by (excruciatingly) long essays, motivation letter, cover letter, and detailed information on past work/cultural/leadership/curricular/volunteer experiences, through which they get to know you better. Hello, how should the motivation letter be formatted? should it start with dear sir/madam and end with best regards?

Hello! Actually, the motivation letter does not necessarily have a fixed format. You can start with 'Dear Admission Committee' or 'Respected Sir/Ma'am'. IT depends on the tone of the letter you want to fabricate. Likewise, I would recommend you to use 'Yours sincerely' rather than 'Best Regards' to give a more formal undertone. However, again, at the end of the day, it depends on you.

Hence, to answer your question, it does seem like a "letter" format is what you have to apply here but that is too flexible. That is what I did with mine. However, you need to make sure it sounds more like a 'Statement of Purpose' than a 'Cover Letter'. It should not be your CV written in sentences but explicitly detailing why you wish to join this program, your long-term and short-term goal, what you wish to get out of the program, how your past experiences will complement the program, and most importantly, what aspects of yours make you a perfect candidate for the institution and the program.

Hi, I am applying for round 3 of this program. Can I ask for advice on the difference between the Motivation Letter and the Motivation to apply Essay? I don't know if I put the right information in each of these.

Hello! So what I have inferred is that the Motivation to Apply is literally your short-term objectives and long-term goals with and after the program. However, your Motivation Letter is your Cover Letter which, ideally being around one page, encompasses a broader set of information- how will your past work experiences complement your goals, why you wished to apply for the program and your journey, that includes both your prior credentials and future aspirations. While Motivation Letter should be formatted like a Formal Letter, the essay for Motivation to Apply is quite simple in its form. Nonetheless, make sure you don't overlap much of the things in these two sections. More spaces to write and express your views on why you would be a fit candidate. Take advantage of it and make sure you present new information about yourself as you go.

This was the only difference I understood but it, fortunately, turned out to be fruitful for me. I hope this helps!
