Hi all

I applied to Tuck in the January round and was placed on the WL. A few days back, I got an email from Tuck inviting me for lunch in mid May (Friday) and was given the following schedule.

10:30 AM Arrive at Tuck
11:00- 12:00 Mock Class Visit with Professor of Communications Paul Argenti
12:00 -1:30 Lunch with students and Alumni Panel
1:40 PM - 3:00 GMAT Test Taking with Akil Bello
3:15-4:30 PM Rock your Application with Tuck Admissions

I just registered for the "Lunch with Tuck" event on May 14. Has anyone here attended in the past? Any Class of 2013 applicants going to attend?

I go to grad school in Ithaca, so Hanover is just about 6 hours away (according to Google). This is just far enough away that it makes it kind of a hassle (especially with a dog and a final on May 18), but I figure it will be good to get a taste of the school. I could completely hate the place.

I'm going to use the opportunity mainly to learn more about the school and gather some more ammo for essays. I think networking with adcoms is kind of a waste of time...am I completely wrong in this assumption?

I am waitlisted candidate from EA. Received an email yesterday from W/L manager that they are planning to reduce the size of the active waitlist. All w/l candidates will receive an update from Tuck in a week's time.

Any other w/l candidates receive it too?

Hi,
My first visit at Tuck is steadily approaching (I'm scheduled for the second week of May), and this is really exciting!

To ensure that I don't travel from outside the country merely to attend class, I'm trying to benefit from the visit as much as I can. One thing I'm very curious is: where can I buy a Dartmouth College tee? This is of course trivial, but one of my future referees for Tuck demands that I bring him one!

Does anyone know, where I can find a place to buy these college tees?

As you may know, last Friday was the deposit enrollment deadline for the incoming class. At this point, due to the number of enrolling students, it appears unlikely that we will be in a position to make many or any offers of admission to waitlisted candidates. Information from our director combined with the number of enrolling students, signals to me that we will be reducing the size of the active waitlist. We plan to send an update to all waitlisted candidates within a week." Lame sauce.

Hi binky! I got the same email. I found this email a complete ramble with bottomline being that we will be dinged by next week. It seems not everyone on the W/L got it.

Anyone have an idea when they will start to announce decisions for the final round? Says decision by 5/14/10, but do they ever start any earlier?

I was expecting this but am still very disappointed.

"We are writing to update you on the status of Tuck's waiting list this year. Tuck's deposit deadline was Friday, April 23, and we received an exceptionally high response to our offers of admission. Currently the class is at full capacity and we do not anticipate making offers of admission to candidates on our waiting list this year. In light of our high response, we are releasing candidates on our wait list and will not be in a position to consider you further for admission at this time."

I just got dinged from the WL too. I got the same email. I'm wondering if the words "we do not anticipate making offers of admission to candidates on our waiting list this year" means that they actually released the entire waitlist. That what it sounds like, but that can't possibly be true.
