Almostfamous,

I can't think of ANY US schools that require a ppt presentation during an interview. I know Chicago has a ppt presentation as a part of the application, but not the interview.

I know Tuck certainly doesn't require this.

Notre Dame does require a powerpoint. It was sort of a ridiculous requirement and the straw that broke the camel's back for me. It was that last thing that pushed my to leave my application incomplete.

Also, finishing up April round application to Tuck so add me to the roll call. This poses a longshot opportunity, but after visiting the school last year and doing my research, Tuck really jumps to the top of my list. My final round application circumstances will be addressed in my optional essay.

I just pulled myself off Tuck's waitlist. Love the program but can't stand to wait. I have chosen to attend Wharton instead. However, I'll always have fond memories of my visits to Hanover. Good luck to everyone still waiting and congrats to those who will be attending!

Hi,

The Tuck forum seems a little quiet. Hope to boost its vigor by posting my question!

As an international candidate, I'm trying to act early for the next admission cycle. I'd love to visit the school on campus even before September and wonder, if Tuck accepts school visit (no interview) in May-August timeframe. Does anyone know?

Thanks.

Almostfamous,

The Tuck school year ends the last week of May. You could come the first 2-3 weeks of May and still visit a class and have lunch with students.

If you visit from June - August, you won't get much out of it. You'll probably get a tour of the school, but no classes are in session and no students are on site. Not really worth the trip, in my opinion.

Dear RF

Thanks for your super-fast (and precisely on the point) reply! Based on your reply, May sounds the ideal timeframe for the visit. June-August sounds - well, indeed empty :)

I've of course checked the schedule a visit system at the school's website. I notice that the system offers visits only until the end of April. Do you think I should directly contact the office, if I want a visit after the April timeline?

Thanks again.

Don't come in May, you will not see me!
But, considering the facts that you are almost certain to apply to Tuck and that it is a long flight from Japan or Northern Europe to Hanover, why don't you just come in September and combine the visit with an on-campus interview for your ED application?
If you just want to have a grasp of what the campus is like I can send you pictures and videos as early as August!

Good post, Mr. Mushroom :)

And certainly an excellent point.

Though the distance from Tokyo to Hanover is not too short, I'm actually contemplating multiple visits at Hanover so that I can feel more relaxed during the second visit (i.e. interview). I'm really serious about Tuck, and I feel that seeing the school will be a blast.

I may, at the risk of raising your eyebrows past your hairline, add that I visited also HEC Paris twice. So I'm certainly pro-multiple visits, when it comes to schools I'm serious about :) Of course, I did live in Paris last year, so the trip was just an hour train ride.

In any case, pics & videos sound fantastic. Thanks. Let's also make sure that we meet up on campus.

Yup, just email the admissions office and ask about scheduling a visit in May. I'm sure it won't be a big deal.

Hi DesiGirl,
this is going back awhile, but i've read about background checks. Did Tuck do one for you? Does Tuck do them for everyone? What is all the fuss about?

Fingers crossed for next week. :?

Hi Ginetta,
I originally posted this question for DesiGirl but i'm not sure she's going to Tuck. Out of curiosity, I've heard alot about background checks- what do they entail? Did Tuck do one for you?

Any other R4 applicants receive any updates on their application. I was unable to do the applicant initiated interview, so I dont know when I should even hear anything.
