I know it's tough waiting, but be patient. Last year, there was a similar January deadline, and the first invites began to go out the first week of March. Invites continued trickling out for a while.

Gluck all!

Tomorrow begins March. Let's see if it starts tomorrow, or towards the end of the week!

Good luck to all R2s!

Does anyone else think Sloan decided to do away with Round 2 this year and just forgot to tell everyone?

I think it feels exactly like R2 last year in terms of timing. I know how you guys feel, but they're not behind schedule yet.

So when should we start talking about them getting behind?

Now I'm imagining a scene similar to the one in Boiler Room where phones ring simultaneously in an empty building: GMATClubbers have a mad phone marathon to an unoccupied AdCom office for R2 results. Ok, I think I had too much caffeine this morning!

All I'm saying is they didn't go out until around now last year. I bet they go out this week. I will be pretty surprised if they don't.

Remember, they have committed to an April 5th decision deadline. The adcom needs to fly around the world and interview everyone themselves. Because of this, they probably like to have a pretty good idea of where each applicant stands prior to sending out invites to limit the work load. (They made it harder on themselves by deferring so many people to R2, not that I'm complaining). Still, after they finish traveling and interviewing, they still need to reconvene and make decisions. They can't wait much longer, so expect something soon.

Unless they decided to interview far fewer people for R2 this year! :(
What if the R1 pool filled out a greater part of the class?

I can't see what benefit MIT gets from filling a large portion of the class in R1 without even looking at R2. Seems like they would get a failing grade from their strategy professors if they did that.

I think you can relax. There's no sense in worrying about things that are unlikely and illogical simply because they are possible.

Congrats!

Are you able to see the hub cities? If so, do you mind sharing what they are?

If the R1 pattern holds, I guess a couple more days of waiting for us CA folks

What about Texas? Do people from Texas even get accepted to MIT?

Please share if anyone remembers the pattern from last year.

I'm interested in Texas (assuming it's the same time zone as Chicago's). What do R1 ppl say?

Edit: Ok, I perused this thread for R1, and first invites for NYC and international countries were sent on 12/6. Someone in Ohio (same timezone for Texas/Chicago I assume) got an invite during the week of 12/17 presumably after ding day of 12/16. Some continued to received invites on 12/18. Some were in limbo afterwards. So based on the same pattern, if NYC invites waere sent today on 3/1, ding day should be ten days later on 3/11. And Midwest people as well as others should get invites afterwards. But this is all hypothetical and hearsay. But at least I have 3/11 as a date that I can watch on my calendar!
