Not sure if anyone else heard this, but I literally just spoke to one assistant admissions director at Tuck and they said that the Consortium requires that ALL schools make decisions about fellowships before 3/1. Which I am assuming means that the schools that require you to do a interview in addition to the Consortium interview have already sent out all of their interview invites, seeing as though 3/1 is next Tuesday.

Wow! So obviously, the majority of the consortium admit/ding decisions will be made by March 1. I read on the CBS forum that someone had called to ask about providing supplemental information to their application. The admission counselor looked her up and said that would not be necessary because she had been accepted. How baller is that?! now that we know their timeline...

NYU is interviewing on Saturday. So they will decide by Monday?

I wonder when Indiana and Darden will release decisions. hmmm. Darden made it seem as if we won't know anything until mid-March.

If they do delay and don't let us know next week, I'm going to assume they want to let us know about the fellowship and admissions at the same time.

I know mid march is when we find out about fellowships, but do we know when the whole bidding process ends?

their meeting is 1 day if I recall correctly. I don't think it's difficult to facilitate that process. They're all sitting in a room anyway..

I think there should be a reality TV show about this process. I am convinced of it. Except that I think that the adcom should make the dings a bit more interesting, like by calling you to let you know what a ding-dong you are. Or perhaps by screaming at you ala Sam Kinison or suggesting that you attend the Univ of Phoenix MBA program.
I also think that tis the season for a good April fools day joke on April 1. If I were an adcom, I would call up some random applicant waiting for a decision and have some fun. (Yes, I must admit I take some sadistic pleasure from our collective suffering)

Just spoke to Becky, recruiting manager at the Consortium, and she confirmed that all schools must make their decisions by 3/1 because they all basically get into a room and have what is essentially a "draft" to see who gets admitted into the consortium, and who gets an actual fellowship. But this is only done for those that the schools have decided to admit. So basically, the schools could hold off letting you know if you are admitted until after the draft session in mid-March. She also said that there is a SLIGHT possibility that you can still get a fellowship AFTER the draft session, but it's up to each of the individual school and is only done on a case by case basis. She said that you should contact the school to see if they give out fellowships after the meeting.

Hmm, my guess is that most schools will notify mid March just cause of the time frame. Though seems like not all, UT for one mentioned in the email it sent out that decisions would be out by the end of this month. For those applying to UT, has anyone gotten the UT EID follow up email? I just got the "technical difficulties" email but nothing after that.

Along the lines of formuaddict, if they could at least televise the "draft", man that would be awesome. Event the post draft analysis would be great "Pedro was selected #1 by Yale, he was captain of his intramural hockey team so he's really going to add that plus he's a whiz at accounting, his quantitative background is really gonna help his future teams, he's ready to be a contributing member from the get go and should start in some clubs as an officer"....
