So I applied to NYU with Rd. 1...I originally did my consortium interview with an NYU Alum, but never received any additional invitation to interview with adcom. Does this mean ding?

Good question. My guess is you will/would need an additional interview because NYU doesn't conduct alum interviews. However, I don't think that necessarily means a ding just yet. My guess though.

You can be waitlisted without an invite to interview---This was was situation last year.

Can you be accepted off the waitlist without interviewing then?

No, you would still have to interview.

I am on the same boat, kegewe.... kinda... I applied R1 and did my Consortium interview at a member school and haven't heard anything yet from NYU. I have a funny way of looking at it, though. I tell myself that they really want me, but somehow I don't fit in to the class they're trying to put together, so they keep holding on to my file while they try to figure out how to fit me in. You know, because they just HAVE to have me... lol.

At some point in time I may have to throw in the towel because it's hard for me to just get up and go if I have to be there on a certain day.

it almost sounds like you guys have already thrown in the towel -that's if you haven't reached out to stern's adcom or the person in charge of consortium applicants. sorry, i didn't read all your past posts but i would be pulling out my hair if i had to wait months for real feedback. if i remember correctly, stern accepts updates (unless it changed its policy). you should take advantage of this policy. also, find a way to make personal contact with someone there (yes, it's late in the process but not too late)...if stern is your first choice, go for it. stay focused. STAY STRONG! (i know that staying strong is much easier said than done :)

@lagomez, you applied R2 right? We still have time. I think someone said in a previous post that diversity interview day is in late Feb. Also, during an accepted.com chat session, an NYU consortium rep said that it was possible to be interviewed, yet not invited to diversity day.

I know the feeling though. Im having a really difficult time staying positive.

Yeah good point. Anything less than 2 weeks and it would be difficult to get time off. But, we still have some time. I'll worry about it late next week I guess.

I've been a long time reader, lurking in the shadows, snickering and observing..I figured once all of my schools accepted me, I would emerge from the corner, open my arms with my cape Dracula style and announce "I've been accepted everywhere, peace out!"..conveniently, if rejected, I would just cry myself a river and remain a ghost....

But I figured it's best to throw myself out there like some of ya'll have and that allowing myself to be brought down by the difficult judgement call of few would be to give it higher weight than what it really is, a very difficult judgement call by few (now, your comeback may be "that's what someone who got rejected says", hey, that may be the only card some of us have left to play, no, but seriously, enjoy the ride!)

money9111, i enjoyed reading your blog, i'll admit i only ready snip-bits but you really capture how consuming this whole process is

lagomez - you're funny

VictoryMBA - I'm intrigued by your pic, is that Washington? i really am curious as to why you chose it as a pic, military background i take it?

progressiongirl - i found your update on NYU as thoroughly efficient, the common trend is usually as follows

post: "i got accepted to xyz school" and then like 5 or 6
follow up questions continue

reply "awesome! when?"
answer "yesterday"
reply, "what round"
answer "1"
reply "anything else?"
answer "yes"

Welcome Count! Thanks for coming out of the lurking shadows....forums like this are definitely more useful with more active participation! Also your analysis of people just dropping admit info and disappearing is so spot on and hilarious. Good luck!

Ross invites are out for the most part. My email said my interview was to be scheduled before the first Fri of Feb (interview is tomorrow).
