Just ding me already. I don't need a formal letter. Hell, I'll take a three-letter email: You are dinged!! That will suffice. I don't need a general letter that goes out to all applicants that says how great we are but there just wasn't room for us. This year there are many wonderful applicants., blah blah blah. I'm okay with the email. Anyway, what use do I have for formal letter? Maybe I'll hang it on my wall for all the world to see.

I applied R2 to NYU, Yale, Dartmouth, UT Austin, Darden

Has anyone heard from them? I know only NYU is requiring an interview but have people gotten interview invites or decision letters from other schools yet? Is there a date where we can expect to hear from them? It's unclear whether you will be contacted with a decision prior to the March 1st meeting and I'm getting antsy lol. I wish they were more like HBS or UPenn. They were clear that Feb 16 and Feb 18 was judgement day so people wouldn't hold their breathe any longer.

Absolutely. When I was there for JMB, it really just appealed to me. I visited every school on my profile list and they all had strong programs and great opportunities, but I did not feel the sense of community that I felt at Johnson. I have a toddler and an infant, and you know the saying - "It takes a village..."

Does anyone know how sensitive cornell is to rankings? I ranked tuck number 1 and cornell number 2... I was waitlisted at tuck and got into cornell.... How will this factor on my fellowship?

I think all of these schools are sensitive to rankings. They may not admit it, but its only logical. They are protecting their yields (% of admitted students who matriculate). The only time they may give way is when they believe that you are not getting into your top ranked school and you ranked them #2 or 3. Interestingly though, Ross is blind in their applicant evaluation, until it comes time to fellowship decision. That's my two cents worth.
