Hey guys, I am a new poster and was wondering if you guys could help me out with my application decision.

I am thinking about applying to Tuck and want to get everyone's opinion. I recently retook my GMATs (Had a 650 prior to a few days ago and then scored a 700). Tuck was always my top choice but my low GMAT score prevented me from applying. I am currently in at a few lesser schools. I know it is late in the game, so let me know whether you think applying is worth a shot, and thanks in advance for the feedback. My credentials are below:

Male
27
New York City
4 years at a top law firm (paralegal)
1 year at a top entertainment firm (law/finance position)
700 GMAT (86% quant., 78% verbal)
3.0 GPA at top 50 University (also went abroad)
History major

If you don't mind "risking" the application fee and the time then why not.

I do not mind risking the time and app. fee. I guess my question is what is a realistic pct. chance that I hear anything positive? Because if there is a 5% chance I get in with those credentials, at this time, I may not do it. Whereas if there is a 25% chance, I will do it. Does that make sense?

Unfortunately, I think you're in a tough position this year. Considering it is the final round of applications and there are already a significant number of people on the waitlist that is qualified as well, you will be competing against those people and Tuck's yield - tough situation. But, if you love Tuck and are willing to wait a year, applying early decision next year may be your best bet.

So almost no chance for this year, and then a good chance for next year if I apply early decision?

Latin Americans from the wait list keep hope. On Friday we received an email from Kristine with current and admitted Latin American student contacts. In that mail she included the following:

"It is very likely that we will be admitting additional Latin Americans from the waitlist after the April 22 deposit deadline, so I will let you know about those people once that occurs.

Hope this is helpful.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I believe feedback is given from March-April.

I received feedback as well as some other people on the forum around a week ago. I think it was posted in waitlist thread.

I have not heard anything yet either. I wonder if they are waiting until after the April 22nd deposit deadline to make a decision on how many (if any) students to admit off the waitlist.

By "people in the program" do you mean current students? Did they give you any indication as to when waitlisted folks would receive decisions or feedback?

Feedback is given through April. Also, decisions can come any time after April 22 through August.

by people...i mean alumni and curren students who I have been networking with whom have spoke to the admissions. they have not indicated anything re: feedback. The first I'd heard of feedback was from this forum. Basically, I was told I should re-take the GMAT....my rebuttal, do you make your low GPA and lacking professional experience candidates fix that? (Hahah of course i dont say that aloud

Are the waitlisters out there still pursuing Tuck seriously, or is it just a "maybe" at this point?

It's so hard to gage Tuck's numbers because of what happened last year
