Has anyone heard anything yet? I received communication from Tuck last week saying to hold tight and that there was nothing I could do to enhance my profile. I think Tuck's deposit deadline was last week and that they should have a better idea of what their class size appears to be by the middle to end of this week.

biztuck, I received the same feedback as you did. However, I do not have much hope that this year waitlist will not "roll" that much because of that amazing number of deferred applicants from last year.

Anyway, I have my fingers crossed. Best of luck to us.

I HEARD that they are going to admit just as many students as they did last year - not "punishing" this class for having to defer 25 students last year. If that's the case, it bodes well (or at least better) for us Wait-listers. If not, I agree, it will be difficult to be taken off the wait-list.

biztuck and MBAUncle,

You guys seem to be in a better position than me then! I was suggested to improve my GMAT score if possible. Kind of surprised, but I was planning to take GMAT anyway, so I might as well do it asap. It appears that I don't stand much chance but hey, they did waitlist me :)

bizTuck, MBAUncle I also got the same communication as you guys did, that there's nothing much I can do to enhance my profile.

So how do you guys factor this into your re-application decision, I mean is this good that our profile is good enough and maybe we should try next year
OR that our profile is not Strong enough to merit a direct admit and there's nothing much we can do about it, so our chances next year would again depend on the applicant pool

To be honest, I'm surprised you were asked to retake the GMAT. Your quant score is near perfect and you broke 700. I figured this type of communication would go out to people who had a strong profile but a GMAT between 650-680. Not a 710....

I scored about a 100 points lower and they said they had no problems with my score and told me not to retake...hmmm!!

Hi fellow tuck wlers,

I just found this forum and was wondering if anyone had any info on whether there will be any admits from the WL this year. The Tuck feedback I received last week indicated that they are overenrolled for this year, which is interesting considering that they have not yet completed their final round of applications.

BTW, I was waitlisted in the November round. 740 gmat, 3.5 GPA from top Public in engineering, 5 years of consulting exp.

Good luck to you all.

tuckwler- I have no idea if they will accept wlers but I was at the admitted students weekend and the "rumor" was that, yes, they've had more people enroll than they expected. I think historically the yield has been roughly 50% but it looks like it's been creeping up these past few years. I'm not sure how accurate these "rumors" are, but hope that helps.

Thanks for the info beagle. Congrats on your admit to a great school. I concur that it seems like the yield has been steadily rising over the last few years. Did you get a good read on how many people at ASW were still trying to feel out Tuck and whether they were going to enroll?

tuckwler- I was going around asking since I was on the fence and it seemed like 90% had already enrolled. Some were debating MIT or Tuck, some were debating Wharton or Tuck. Increduously, I met someone who was leaning towards Tuck over HBS (I have a feeling that was due to the copious amounts of alcohol being served and it will be interesting where that person ends up enrolling).
On the other hand, I am almost certain the remoteness dissuaded at least two applicants. They had never been to the campus and the expression on their face was priceless when I explained to them that the entire town was the three blocks they had just walked past. Also, a few international admits were still waiting to hear on their loan situations. So that may open up a few slots.
I think Tuck's job placement success is really pushing up the yield. We'll see.
Hope that helps.

Thanks Beagle. That was very helpful info. I guess the waiting continues for me.

What other school(s) are you contemplating?

The other school I was thinking about was Ross. It seems like there are a few of us on this board that were accepted to both and had a tough decision to make.

Anyone out there still holding on to hopes of making it off the waitlist? I wonder if we may see some movement this week as April round decision come out. Thoughts?
