Did anyone on WL receive a phone call or did we all receive the same generic e-mail? Would be nice to find out in next couple weeks as ND has a "Welcome Weekend" for accepted students the first wknd of April. Looks like a good event to attend to meet classmates and learn more about resources.

greetings -- I am debating whether or not to apply in the upcoming R3. I have had some hard dings from some schools that I thought I'd get interviews with (HBS, UPenn, MIT), and now I only have a few more applications out there. I realize that I put all my eggs in one basket in Boston, and now need to identify one or two more schools to get after. I have no option to apply next year -- I am in the Army and need to go to grad school this summer for my follow-on assignment. Here are my stats -- 3.4 GPA (GWU, DC), 8 years active duty Army expericence, GRE (no GMAT) 590q, 550v (roughly 560 GMAT equiviliant, taking it again this weekend to try to bolster the score). Any advice?? I am a little jaded after applying to programs that articulated "total-scholar" look at their applications...and don't want to invest a ton of time just to get shot down again -- I dont have the luxury.

a good gmat score is critical .. thats the reason the test is there in the first place.. combined with a good gpa and good work ex ( which i can see you already have). I really dont see any problems for you.

Just received a call from Brian Lohr about an hour ago inviting me to become a part of the Notre Dame family. (And then I got the email which leads to the flash animation)

During my interview, when they asked if I had any questions, I asked if they could expedite my decision; and they did. There were something extenuating circumstances for this, but I just wanted to let you know that if you have a real need, don't be afraid to ask.

Go Irish! Good luck to everyone in the Forum. After getting dinged by my top-choice school and not receiving an interview from my #2, it was hard to believe that something good was coming down the pike.

Hang in there, keep believing. I wish you all the best, and will be excited to see some of you this fall at Mendoza!

blessings!

Actually, I was a Round 4 applicant, but I asked for an expedited decision. I'm getting more excited about the Fall everyday.

Question: For the full-day campus visit/interview, is the dress code business formal (i.e. suit & tie)??

I don't want to be sitting in the class wearing a suit if I don't have to.

Thanks in advance!!

Hey, I am wondering how your recommenders dealt with the PPI? Mine were complaining that it requires way more work than the traditional reference letter :( I feel quite awkward for putting them in such a situation...

I personally took the PPI, and went through it with my recommenders. It only took about 10-15 minutes to complete, which was way less time than a traditional recommendation.

Hey, but then, I saw that there are spaces to be filled out by the recommenders as well? Wouldn't it be strange if they make no comments on your performance or behaviour? And aren't recommenders expected to provide specific examples of their assessments as well?

Suit and tie. I actually called a school to ask this question. If your visit involves an interview, pull out the suit. It's only going to make you look more serious.

ND has been slipping in almost all the major rankings over the past couple of years...can anyone give an explanation as to why and where you see the school trending in the next few years? It seems as though the school is trying to bring the GMAT average of admitted applicants up this year, possibly to make a move upward in rank?

It seems that ND has underperformed in recent graduation placements. Any explanation for this problem? Maybe the industries where the school's alumni are primarily based have been hit hard by the recession, leading to poor placement via the alumni network?
