Question to all who have visited the campus -

How was your experience? I have been there and I did not really like my exp there and I am not able to 100% decide on USC for that reason.

The student I talked to did not have a great deal knowledge on internships, job placements etc. Maybe just my experience, would like to know how everyone else's experience was.

I would contact one of the USC FTMBA ambassadors: https://www.marshall.usc.edu/mba/admissions/visit Make sure you pick somebody who has similar post-MBA career goals to yours. I enjoyed my time visiting USC and I got an answer to most of my questions.
Had you not liked your experience at USC maybe you should not go there. Getting an MBA degree is a huge investment in terms of money, time and energy. You have to definitely see yourself spending two years of your life at that institution otherwise it's just not worth it.

I've been to USC a few times and the MBA students were very friendly and helpful. I've also emailed and had informational interviews with some much earlier before I applied and they were very personable too, all of which led me to apply. My willingness to move from NY to LA after being admitted a few weeks ago is partly due to the culture at USC! I'm actually surprised you had that experience but maybe that person was having a bad day or something. I wouldn't judge USC on that one bad apple.

I asked the adcom when would the waitlisted candidates be re-evaluated and they said at the end of each round cycle. They did not specify the date. Could anyone explain what "end of round cycle" means? I applied in r1 so I will surely be compared with r2 candidates. But when ? Apr 1 (R2 decision date) or before that?

Thanks Suit up and Progression girl ... I also believe that it was just my experience because Trojan network is one of the huge strengths of the school as I have read. Thats why wanted to know how everyone else felt. Thank you!

Are there any admits here that are in NY? Some NY admits are meeting up soon. Check the Welcome Website for the discussion.

I actually had the same experience, except my student ambassadors were very honest and gave all of the information I asked for. However visiting the school made me feel less impressed and excited about the school so I felt compelled to ask kind of pointed questions. The students' answers to my questions just further solidified the feeling I was having when I visited. I felt like USC really was inferior to the higher ranked schools I had visited both in student approach and resources available to students. This could be just a perception of my own. I was also not that excited to find only ONE GUY who does operations and anyone else in the operations club is basically there for the free food.

Just curious - what other schools are you comparing this USC experience to?

At the time I had been to Tuck, Fuqua ,Tepper, Ross and I volunteer for Haas.

Part of my positive experience elsewhere could be due to them being early visits so I was still wide eyed ,my overall travel experience or when in the year I visited. At USC the students could have just been more honest but all 6 students I talked to while there had negative things to offer before I asked. Just little niggling things. Also my tour guide was a no show, students blatantly asleep in class and the class I attended was very undergrad in material and student engagement level. There was more talk of drinking at USC and general students ribbing on each other and talking during class than any other school. Maybe I am just anal or maybe it was recruiting time, I was there around February.

You got the drinking talk too!? I got that from my interviewer! She was like we drink... a lot.

On another note, @USCTrojans started following me on twitter... good news/bad news?

I'd say good news :) or more accurately strange news. I figure if you were waitlisted at Wharton you're probably in at USC and Georgetown anyhow. That is just my tea leaf reading MBA hopeful estimate. You know how we like to speculate in these here parts. Best of luck to you in your applications.

I think strange news is right. But along those lines, stranger things have happened in MBA admissions...... :| Not counting my chicks before they hatch.

Had my interview today. It was quite conversational in nature, my interviewer was quite familiar with my whole application, but mostly asked standard questions such as why usc, why now etc. All and all a good experience. Now the wait.

Hi Guys...
I am an Indian Round 2 applicant.I have my Skype interview schedule on 17th March..Can anyone who had a Spyke interview post his/her experience. What I am most interested to know is whether the interview is blind ? Also, is it the template style or more conversational interview?

I interviewed on skype. it was not blind and only lasted 35min. It was the standard questions. Although I was asked, "If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?" Pretty stupid question in my opinion but oh well.
