I'm a student at Yale Divinity School and I have a friend at SOM who was admitted from the R2 wait list last year. Unfortunately, he didn't hear the decision until 2 weeks before orientation began (i.e. late July). A friend of his was admitted from the wait list 2 days before orientation. (I'm not sure which round his friend applied in.)

All this to say: 1) wait listed applicants may not hear back on the R3 decision date (May 12); and 2) don't give up hope until you hear a definitive answer.

Best of luck to all!

one day soon... did you do the virtual interview?

My two cents on rd3 sitch:

For anyone who is rd3 (including myself) and has not been invited to interview AFTER the virtual interview, my guess is its a long shot.

Just looking at the facts:
1. Several Rd3 people were called on april 1st for an in person interview- no virtual.
2. A couple weeks later it seems like everyone else in round 3 (unless onedaysoon, or others who have not posted, did not) got an invitation to virtual interview.
3. Even since THEN, there have been reports of people being invited to interview after the virtual.
4. In my opinion , the nail in the coffin was this past friday when a few people from round 2 got off the waitlist, etc. It was the deadline for the deposit, the adcom meets on fridays. They reviewed their remaining spots and started to make decisions on who might fill them. I think its safe to say, if they thought any remaining rd3-ers were even in the RUNNING, they would have called friday with an interview invite. (i think mon-tues COULD happen but after that I am personally writing it off)

If they were going to invite any more rd3 candidates for an inperson interview, my guess is it would have happened before they started admitting waitlisters, just sayin.

5. Furthermore, I do NOT think they will accept anyone who has not gone in for an inperson interview.. meaning, anyone who has had the virtual interview but not contacted since then will be getting a ding come the 12th, unless they are invited in the next few days.

Thats my take on the rd3 stuff. Not trying to kill hopes, just being totally realistic about whats goin on here.

Things are not looking very positive here.
I mailed to confirm if they received my recording, they confirmed, but the mail was too balanced to make a + or - deduction.

Hey flurobox1: Did u get a call ...

Fellow waitlisters - who wants to start guessing about tomorrow's outcome? Anyone think we'll see some movement?

my husband is a R3 applicant. He did the virtual interview quite a few weeks ago (forget the exact date). Have not heard anything since then….. I wonder if they will still waitlist people that did virtual’s? Or just get NO’s. Although he has gotten into 4 of the 9 we applied to, with 2 waitlists (to our top two choices!)…. This is agony waiting… We wanted to take some time as of the choices we have we will have a good distance to move. I have a weird feeling something will change last minute and I will jut have to meet him a few weeks later.

This should be an exciting day!! I am an international student on the WL from Rd2, submitted supplemental material and a letter of rec.. Giving visa timing, I would expect internations to find out either today or in the next few weeks. Getting off the waitlist a week before classes start does not work for us... Good luck to all!!

International student & WL fr R2 too. Submitted a new essay clarifying goals, letter of interest and 3 new recommendations. Don't hold high hopes but still wanted to try my best.

Best of luck to everyone waiting :)

I applied in R3 and I didn't get an interview so I've already accepted my fate but I'm pretty surprised as I check these boards at 3pm on the deadline date that not a single person has reported an admittance.

If no one is admitted from the R3 applicant pool I'd be pretty annoyed that I spent money and time applying for non-existent opportunities. Anyways, good luck to those waiting.

I think R3ers will start hearing after 4 or 5. To them, I say good luck! For R1 and R2, they called all the admits either on the deadline or a few days before the deadline. The whole virtual interview process was solely done in R3, so I don't know how they plan to notify people.
