I like this thread.

This week, I started as a lurker and was hesitant to join in because I hate admissions forums. Usually, they're just full of people trying to "one-up" each other and destroy the hopes and dreams of those they don't think are good enough to get into a school they themselves have not even gotten into. But, alas, those are the mainstream (non-URM) threads.

But this Consortium thread is really supportive and uplifting. I appreciate how even people who are anxious for their decision quickly respond to congratulate another member on an acceptance. Additionally, I appreciate the stories from others about some of the trials and tribulations they've faced in the b-school application process (some while maintaining a family with kids!) and the success they're enjoying in the end. As a young applicant, 23yrs old, it really humbles me to hear those stories and reassures me that God will have everything work out in the end.

I look forward to the opportunity to join you all as members or fellows in the Consortium. I think the shared experiences as a minorities will be really encouraging during and after business school.

And that's the end of my unsolicited testimony. Congratulations to everyone! :D

Well said...I'm feeling all mushy now! :-D

I was accepted to tuck today! no fellowship but my second ranked school (yale) did offer me a fellowship...now I need to make difficult decisions...

good luck everyone waiting and to everyone in the consortium!

Congratulations!!

General question: Why would a school accept someone and then pass on them for the fellowship, knowing that probably 95% of applicants will go to their lower ranked school that gave them the money?

I got the call from Tuck this morning, I'm still teary eyed from happiness!! It was a tough road even having to deal with the negativity of individuals that were trying to tell me that I was not good enough. Prayer and my family helped me through! I did not get any money from them, but I was accepted. I also got the call from UNC yesterday with the Consortium fellow and 25% from Ross. Right now all I can think of is Tuck only prob. is how am I going to pay for it?!?!? ahhhh

Gmigsmo very true statement, I do wish I was in the same predicament though, but as yet I do not have another admit (except a part time) other than my CGSM fellowship which I ranked 3/5.

What are those with admits to 2 schools and one full ride planning to do.

I'm happy to report that I just received the call from UNC, I'm in with the fellowship!!! :)

Now my decision is going to be really though to make. I already have an offer from Wisconsin with full Schorlarship + living Stipend. I have a lot to consider now. I'm very lucky to have this dilemma. Good luck to those still waiting.

Yo! Congratulations arzad....... wow you do have some tough decisions to make!!!

Which way are you leaning?

Thank you buddy. I have no idea

CONGRATS! that's awesome have you visited Wisconsin? Its a beautiful campus... but its cold as all get out from november to march. weather may seem silly to consider, but when you're blessed with two fellowships you get to think hard about if you'll really want to get up and go to class when its 0 degrees and theres 8 inches of snow on the ground. LOL

I never visited Madison, my interview was over the phone, I have only seen campus pictures and videos...lol. I have a lot to think about and consider.

Obviously it looks like Tuck already knows who they are accepting. Why don't they just post it online. Why the suspense?

I hear you.

The annoying thing about this is that ALL schools make their admissions decisions prior to the draft, but yet feel the need to hold on to that information for days after...makes no sense to me.

YEEEEEEEEEEEEYEAH!!!!!!! Full Fellowship at UCLA Anderson!!!!!!!!!!.......THANK YOU GOD!!!!!

I may start packing my bags tonight! Thank you all for the support.
Calls are still going out, don't get discouraged or wave the white flag just yet.

Congratulations and I'm very happy for you! If you have any questions with the living situation here in Socal, feel free to PM me.
@suchdaddy Damn I actually got a call from Vicki around the same time you were notified of your fellowship. I wasn't able to answer but she just left a message saying to call her back. Couldn't get a read from her voice. LOL. As you can tell I still haven't called her back today.

Lol, she does talk kinda fast without great excitement... But you may be getting similar news. Would that muggy the waters or you or are you still pretty dead set on Cornell (obviously, now I'm biased)? I'm on my cellphone so I can't maneuver back through the pages as quickly but you got the park fellowship didn't you? That's a blessed predicament to be in.
