Out of curiosity, any of you who finished interviewing interviewed with Dee? I had the impression that she would be really intimidating/emotionless but pretty much had a very pleasant conversation. She asked very pointed questions but gave me a fair chance to answer them. She did throw in some random questions in the middle of the interview I'm not sure if it was just to change the pace.

Overall, anybody have any comments they want to share? I'm not interested in exactly what you discussed, but I'm just trying to gauge if everything went well or if I fell for some kind of trap...

Although I can't comment on an interview with Dee, I met her briefly and she seemed very pleasant. My interview with a member of the adcom was pretty emotionless though. The questions were very similar to you and others on this forum. Seems like they want to see how you think on your feet and that you are insightful. So I think your experience is pretty common.

That said, I left the place having no clue where I stood and I still have no idea. I guess I'll just have to bite my nails for another month.

I am aware that there are some senior undergraduate student,
who apply for Harvard MBA (Not 2+2 Program).
Is there any data which shows the total number of senior undergraduate students who apply?

Morover, for 2+2 program, does age matter?
I am a Korean senior student, I took a semester off so I am able to apply for 2+2 program.
However, military service(2years) is mandatory in Korea, and I believe my age will be above average.

Thanks.

Some of the hotels close to the school also store your luggage for you even after you've checked out.

Age doesn't really matter, I think. If you are a junior or equivalent (at least one semester left for graduation after the date you apply at) you're eligible. You might want to clarify with HBS though.

Hello All,

I have a quick question and sorry if it has been answered:

Does HBS require you to have taken business/economics classes before you can enter their MBA program? Any other special pre-requisites for HBS? I'm an engineering undergrad major so...

Cheers!

Ok I guess I'm stupid. I tried finding the deposit amount and deadline for R1/R2 and can't find anything at all... Do any of you know what it is? Does anybody have the deposit amount/deadline from last year?

Really? That sounds pretty short. Sloan's R1 admissions notification date is 1/31 and 3 weeks from 12/15 wouldn't even get you to that date. I thought the deadline was in early March.

I was wondering if at HBS one can take courses outside the business school for credit towards the MBA degree.

For example can I take a course from the Psychology department.

If yes, would can anyone tell me how many such courses outside the business school would count towards the degree, thank you.

Hi,

I'm currently working on my HBS essays, and I was wondering whether the essay 3.d "When you join the HBS Class of 2013, how will you introduce yourself to your new classmates?" should be like a speech, or more like a cover letter?

Example of a speech: "Hello everyone, my name is Padawan, [...]"

Thanks for your insights

can be either, but speech is prob. better, but remember most of all, it is really an essay to adcom, no matter what format you use--and the trick to maximize this essay is to add info they dont have fr. rest of app. Now, since you are also introducing yourself, well, of course, you will touch on basics like jobs and interests, but you need to add value, e.g. "Hi, I work for Intergroup Brands, the world's largest spirits maker and distributor, that is wine and liquor, to those of you who dont know the lingo, and I realize some of you migth consider this a 'sin' business, and you may be partly right, a topic I'd be happy to discuss, the story of how I got there is interesting
blah, blah . . ."
so the point is, you need to sound reasonable, and presentable and a value add to the class. Good place to discuss hobbies, and interests, and how will get involved in orgs at HBS, but mostly, good place to expand on your actual background and accomplishments, w. powerful stories about family, or upbringing, or interests.
