There are many benefits to timing your practice, including:
My alumni interviewer is really tough to get hold of. It has been almost 20 days since i first contacted him and yet no date or place has been suggested by him. Should i ask the school to assign another interviewer? I think the current alum is a good interviewer for me, as his career progress, pre and post MBA is very similar to mine which i hope will make for a good interview.
Have you specifically asked his availability? You could ask him if you should look for another interviewer. If you approach it as I understand the demands of your job blah blah blah, if you do not have the time available I understand that and I am sure I would be able to arrange for another interviewer.
Got an e-mail from adcom saying "Got your application and we look forward to reviewing it." I presume this means nothing pending application-file wise in my app. Did not receive the alum interview assignment yet. May come in a week or so, I would think.
Just a sign that you submitted Pt 2. At least Kellogg isnt like some schools constantly sending emails. Make sure you have your status check email though and save that somewhere.
Most likely they will come out sooner, if they do the same for Round 2 that they did for Round 1. Many people found out well before the published date, including me (over a month before it). But some had to wait until the 11th hour (literally) on the published day.
JDMBA
When will Kellogg begin releasing decisions? Do they wait until the published date or will they come out sooner?
I was the first admit here and on BW, I found out in the end of Nov. right after Thanksgiving. I heard they let a few people know before the holiday but that may just be rumor mill stuff. So for me it was about 5 weeks after applying and 3 weeks after interviewing. Its possible people will find out by mid Feb. Thought they may push decisions back until after the first admit weekend on Feb 15-17th.
Not sure about other things beyond just the 2 year FT. JD/MBA, MMM, and 1 year might take longer.

I was hoping the JD/MBA program would be sooner since there are not that many applicants. I think they had 175 last year. Time will tell.
Not sure how Kellogg does the JD/MBA admit, but it could take longer because you are applying to two seperate schools basically within the university. I think they admit seperately but only release a decision once both are complete, so you could quickly get into one but take a another month to get into the other.
I know it takes longer for MMM applicants to get decisions than the 2 year people. Plus R2 usually has a lot more applicants than R1. Dont start thinking about it now, you will have plenty of time to get worked up once people start posting decisions in another month.
I guess it depends on alum availability in the applicant's area (for off-campus). I got mine today (I live close to NYC...so I guess a lot of alums live in this area). Planning to set up an interview for next week if alumnus is ok with it.
Toga where are you located? If you are in a place with few or no alums then you may not get an interview. They will give you a waiver and then if they are seriously considering you they will offer a phone interview. Since Kellogg offers interviews to everyone alums can quickly fill up all their slots, so if you arent in an area with a lot of alums it can make it difficult.
Probably are more alums in Tokyo than in Vancouver, but still there will be only a fraction of what is in Chicago and NYC. Dont worry if they want you they will make it happen.
