Shud have mentioned this earlier, but better late than never :
Many thanks to the folks who agreed to critique my R2 essays and resume at short notice and provided excellent feedback. Thanks kry, nc, rr, nervous, mba2010, mba2007, clobo, DJM, bcc145. You folks can expect some kudos from me soon
Whether my apps are good enough is another question, but I know it could have been far worse if not for your honest feedback. Thanks a lot.
sperinko

congrats everyone!!! dang sperinko, you had an entire admissions consulting *team* helping you there. Good luck bud! I hope to see all of you at DAK in April!
Good luck Kry....I am sure you are all set to do a clean sweep of all schools you applied.
Haha, thanks sperinko. I don't think a clean sweep is possible, since today is the soft deadline for Stanford interviews, no word from them, probably a WL or ding from Stanford.
I'd be happy with an early Kellogg admit though (and definitely ecstatic with a Haas admit in 2 weeks... hopefully!)

kry congrats on finishing Kellogg after all.
We have two matches in our target schools, so lets see whats it gonna be. Keeping my fingers crossed for us at Haas. I also hope Kellogg will make a decision rather soon, and not near the final deadline.
haha, we'll see... it'll depend on scholarships and stuff like that too. Kellogg can probably leap over UCLA, but not sure about Haas. I don't even know if I can get into Kellogg yet!
People will come out of the woodwork when decisions start to come out. I think a lot of folks went for it R1 because its the best set of essays to start with.
Advice: I'm looking to take a class this semester to complement my application for R3 to Kellogg. I need to overcome an absence of Math classes in college (I did take Calc). Should I take Accounting, Stats, or Calculus? Or, two of them? And, if so, which two?

Accounting or Stats since you already took calculus.
I never took calculus in college and only had a Stat class on my transcript. Things seemed to work out ok for me but I too was worried about the weak quant demonstrated on my transcript.

Did you do well in the calc class? It is possible to get in with little quant background as long as what you have is solid, meaning you got a good grade in calc and get a 48+ on the quant section of the GMAT. If you fall below these I suggest you either retake calc if you did poorly or stats. Also, I hate to say it but I personally would recommend waiting until next fall to apply, especially if you come from a fairly common demographic or have nothing that really sets you apart. R3 is generally considered the most difficult, if the over all acceptance rate is 24% last year figure that R3 acceptance rates would be half of that. Even adcoms recommend people wait to apply. Your only hope is you are either a very unusual applicant or such a strong one that they will admit you. A lot of R3 apps I bet are people who did not get into their top choices earlier in the process (most likely HSW applicants).
A positive note on your weak quant background, Kellogg is not as quant focused as other schools like Wharton and Chicago. So your chances are probably a lot stronger at Kellogg than schools like those.
