I would like some sort of closure to this whole process- just want to move on and start planning. I wish I had applied to all my schools in R1 just because I would have known my final destination by now :)

Oh well- less than two weeks to go....

sorry to hear majosan...

I'm in the still waiting camp!!! But my expectations are lower so not too concerned.. The way I se it, if I get admitted into Kellogg, it's a bonus. Expectation management i call it :)

I third that! My advice to anyone applying for next year is do your best to get all your apps submitted in R1. At least I submitted 1 app in R1 but I feel like I can't start planning anything because I won't hear from my last school until April and I want all the info before I decide,

Majosan--good luck with your remaining apps! :gl

Had my off-campus interview today. Went really well I think.

Questions broke down like this:
1. Tell me about yourself.
2. Why an MBA now?
3. What are your post-MBA goals (short-term/long-term)?
4. What accomplishment are you most proud of?
5. Tell me about a time you failed.
6. Why Kellogg?

Then I had my questions for her. After that we talked a bit more about the 1Y program (which I've applied to in R3).

All in all it went really well. It was originally scheduled for an hour but ended up going over by about 15-20min. Not ideal as I was trying to keep on time but she didn't seem to mind at all.

From my understanding, Kellogg interviews won't make you, but they will break you. Just glad to have that checked off and now the wait. :) I'll be trolling these forums so best of luck to all those still waiting to hear back.

R1 admits,
Has any of you tried to extend K's deposit deadline? I would like to extend mine but I'm not sure if a reason such as "the decision from the R2 school I have applied to will not be available before April 2nd" is an appropriate one. Any advice?

I don't see any damage in asking. However, I doubt arguing that you are waiting to hear from a school that you would prefer over them would be a very compelling argument.

Agree. That's why I am asking about an "appropriate" reason :-)

go for it nervous. I have heard people asking politely and the school granting the request.

They have to (or should) understand that we all apply to multiple schools. If you frame it as "I want to have all the information available before I make this momentous decision" instead of "I'm waiting for another school I prefer more than yours", then you should be fine. :)

no harm in asking. i asked gsb to extend it, but was rebuffed. no biggie.

Nervous--I'm very interested to see how requests for extensions are responded to as well, but in my case I want to request an extension from Duke (Duke deposit is due 3 days before I go to DAK). I really think the DAK experience will help make my decision so I just need a week or two longer from Duke but I'm trying to decide the best way to go about asking for it.
With your scholarship, are you still considering Duke at all or are you now just deciding between Kellogg and your R2 school?

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!! I got into Kellogg!

Got a call from the Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid, but I was in a face to face meeting at the time, so she left a message. At the end, she said she had more good news, but will leave me in suspense until she tries me again later tonight or tomorrow... I hope it's what I think it is...

oh boy... funny how an admit call can still stir up such strong emotions even after a few other admits!!! I'm so excited!!

This is going to be a very interesting week... (Anderson is sending out fellowship decisions on Tuesday).

I'll update more in a few hours... got a meeting with a VP coming up that I'm nervous about, but the Kellogg call definitely gave me a boost of confidence. :)
