Good point, hsampath. I was pretty discouraged after seeing Paul's response about my chances at Kellogg but decided to apply anyway, highlighting my stronger points in application. And it worked!

Lesson learned: apply where your heart is. Regardless of how successful or unsuccessful you are, at least you will know that you tried.

Now that you are into Kellogg, and your area of interest is general management, want to throw in an app for Harvard for R2? (I think your profile is great, btw, not sure why you aren't applying unless you already determined it wasnt the right fit for you)

wow, that snippet from Paul is a gem! I remember the first time I got his response and he pretty much said I have no chance at Stanford, barely any chance at Haas and Kellogg, and a big *maybe* at UCLA. Of course, that all may still come true, but I really want to disprove him like nervous did here!!! 8-)

Nervous, I think you need to write your "story" especially after reading pauls comments on your chances. It really does go to show that people should take a chance and just apply where they want.

So, today was the only day I somehow managed to forget about my cell phone. I left it in the pocket of my coat. At 4:55 it occurs to me that I haven't seen it for the entire day. At 4:56 I see a missed call from an 847 number. I get excited but then calm myself down because I know that a call should come from the "unknown" number. Nevertheless, I still listen to the voice-mail and guess what I hear???

" I am very excited to let you know that you were admitted to the 2-year program."
I start jumping up and down while my coworkers stare at me like “what is wrong on with you?”.

I AM ADMITTED TO KELLOGG!!! HOLY SH*T!!!

The call came in at 3:15 EST.

Congrats Nervous/Lolitha..another Gmatclub success.. ur patience paid off

You know I am really hoping my Chicago GSB R2 app is successful simply for the reason that there will be so many wonderful gmatclubbers in the Chicago region (both at Kellog and Chicago GSB).

Better not show this thread to my wife then...you can have fun at a sausagefest though. I will tell you what a marketing class is like when your classmates are a bunch of women who worked in fashion, luxury goods, and beauty products. :-D
