Thanks riverripper. I did get into Kellogg, and I'm really looking forward to DAK. Even though I live about 10 miles south of Evanston, I made hotel reservations so I can get the full experience!

I look forward to meeting you too. Sounds like it going to be a blast.

For those going to DAK - if you have some time to kill before the events begin, and you need a place to eat, go to Buffalo Joe's (https://centerstage.net/restaurants/buffalo-joes.html). My friends and I make special trips up there just for the wings, we even had a "wing off" challenge there. It's a total dive, but so worth it.

ApolloLuna, saw your profile...I think you are the only one of like a dozen of us that has been admitted to both GSB and Kellogg (unless forcefeed got in today and didnt post). The real question is which of the two are you going to select?

Yeah decided to post my profile so I wasn't a "ghost."

I was actually really shocked I got into GSB. All along Kellogg had been my first choice because of the culture (as evidenced by the people on the board). Then I got the call from Chicago, and they nominated me for a large fellowship. However, the winner is not announced until a few months from now so I won't know if I got it for a while. So now, at this point, I have no idea.... I'm hoping the admit weekends will pull me clearly in one direction, and I have a feeling that direction will be north of Chicago. But for right now, I'm keeping an open mind, and feeling thankful to be accepted to both! It's something that I NEVER expected!

A bunch of money from a top 5 school is something you pretty much have to take...There are plenty of GSB students on here too. Next year we will have a nice rivalry going on here.

I am curious as to forcefeeds success. He is the only unknown. Hopefully he got some good news today.
I am pretty sure it is a waitlist or a ding, but I really have no idea. I received an email that instructed me to use the "check status" feature at https://www.kellogg.northwestern.edu/admissions/apply. It then asks for a Login ID and PIN# and I have no clue what those are for my account. I tried the embark email address and password but that isn't working, and logging into embark doesn't tell me anything. I'll give them a call tomorrow morning unless people on here know how to crack the code.

I know you don't know me, but in a way I feel like I know you (hope that doesn't sound creepy) after reading your posts and hearing your stories. So congratulations to all who have gotten in, and congratulations to those who have finished (or almost finished) your round 2 apps. I found this board after I finished my apps - wish I had found it before!! Hope to see some of you at DAK! (By the way, I live in Chicago, so if anybody needs travel advice, feel free to ask.)
Are you stalking us?

I really hope I didn't come off as an a$$ with the lurker comment. Congrats on both Kellogg and GSB, I think you are the first of gmatclub's '08 applicants to do it. BTW, have you been to McGee's in Lincoln Park at all? They have a 10cent wing deal on tuesdays and it is a great place to watch a game. mmmmmmmm.

forcefeed you would have gotten an email after part 1 with the title
Quote:
Kellogg Confirmation *Please Retain For Your Records*
You use the pin number and password they give you to check your status.

Gracias senor! I guess the *Please Retain For Your Records* just didn't catch my eye when searching gmail . Congrats to everyone that got in and here is to continuing the cross-town rivalry.

no worries Forcefeed. We're both in at GSB and WL'd at Kellogg. Nice rivalry budding, indeed.

Guilty as charged!
Nah, no worries. I think it just light a fire underneath me to finally join the discussion. Thanks! Yeah, I'm really surprised that it happened. It makes sense that it is usually one way or another.

Haven't been to McGee's, though I've heard of it. I'll have to try to the 10 cent wing night - maybe tomorrow since it's Tuesday!
