I was walking my dog through campus today and saw a handful of perspective students infront of Jacobs today. All had their name tags and info packs. I am surprised you said there were 15 people there for a visit...that was about how many people were at the MIT visit I was on last fall.

just to provide a framework, I visited the last Friday in July - there might have been more folks there because it was a Friday? I should note though that I visited Chicago GSB the same day and only had about 3 other prospectives + 2 spouses there...
I am yet to experience 0 degs F or 8 feet of snow in New York City.

The winter is not too much worse than NY - just a bit more snow and windier
zero degrees will happen...chicago is not that snow though. I would say its more along the lines of Boston. Now Tuck, you will see a lot more than 8 feet of snow haha.

Another difference is that the snow in Chicago/NYC melts at a decent rate as compared with the snow in WI/NH/MA. I think with a decent jacket + winter accessories (gloves, hat, etc) you should be fine
I lived in NH...not worried about the weather here. I know a former gmatclub guy who came from miami...he definitely isnt looking forward to the winter.

zero sales tax...zero income tax...trust me moving to a place with something like a 10% sales tax sucks. If I ever start a company, like a little consulting thing or something I am going to locate it on the coast of NH.
I submitted Part 1 on Wednesday. Now do I have to wait to recieve a confirmation email that my application has been processed or can I just call on Monday (+2 business days after submitting part 1) to schedule my on-campus interview?
Part 1 submitted, essays uploaded. I need to re-scan and upload my transcripts (a couple are over 2MB in size). At least my recommenders are registered, so they are the bottleneck at this point. Heck, they've got a few weeks and are reliable, so I'm considering the Kellogg app 99% complete at this point
Thanks Kryzak. I'm glad they released essays nearly 2 months ago so I've had time to do a few drafts and outlines, have them reviewed, and clean them up all before mid-August. This leaves plenty of time for recommenders as well.
This is a HUGE advantage we all have over the class of 2010 Even though you guys will be making real money before us.
I'm in the process of reading Paul Bodine's book. I've done a few brainstorming sessions, but will really hit in this weekend as I should be done with his book then. Awesome book!
1) For the description of responsibilities at work, are you listing responsibilities and saving specific accomplishments for the essays? I get the impression that is what they are looking for, but I could be wrong.
2) For the Extracurricular Activities section, are you just listing formal activities, or are you including unorganized things like golfing, etc.

I got my job description from my employer and made that to fit...it looks different from my resume, it actually sort of allowed my resume to show that I went far beyond my actual job responsibilities.

I think I had one unorganized thing...if you dont have any formal activities I wouldnt leave it blank thats for sure.
Congratulations to those who have already completed their essays! I'm just starting with mine and have a question - what font size and margin widths are you guys using for the essays?

I used 11 pt Times New Roman with 1" margins all around. Got about 850 words in.
