Sorry to hear that...did you at least try to arrange feedback. I hear that some people are being very successful with that.

Wow, things travel fast these days! From Wikipedia:

The Kellogg School of Management (The Kellogg School or Kellogg) is the business school of Northwestern University located in Evanston, Illinois ,downtown Chicago, Illinois and Miami, Florida . Kellogg offers full-time, part-time, and executive programs, as well as partnering programs with schools in China, India, Hong Kong, Israel, Germany, Canada, and Thailand, granting the M.B.A and Ph.D.

Founded in 1908 in downtown Chicago as a part-time evening program, the school was chartered to educate business leaders with "good moral character."[3] Kellogg pioneered the use of group projects and evaluations and popularized the importance of "teamwork" and "team leadership" within the business world.[citation needed]

Kellogg has historically been ranked as one of the top business institutions in the world by BusinessWeek, U.S. News & World Report, The Economist Intelligence Unit, and other business news outlets. Alumni from the Kellogg school hold leadership positions in for-profit, nonprofit, governmental, and academic institutions around the world.

On December 15 2008, Kellogg's admissions office accidentally emailed hundreds of its Fall 2009 applicants with offer of admissions. However, minutes later, each applicant's online status page showed that he/she was rejected. On December 16 2008, it was reported that Beth Flye, Kellogg's Director of Admissions, made a phone call to each affected applicant with apology

I agree, how fast they spread. Note "hundreds". I don't think they were in 100's :)

Wow. I think the only person who had a worse day than those guys who got those e-mails is Beth Flye herself. Can you imagine having to make so many horrible phone calls?

I really feel bad for her - she seems so nice.

Of course, this does not make what happened OK and I am truly sorry for those who got the conflicting messages.

If Beth Flye is personally calling everyone to apologize (acc to the wikipedia post), does this mean no one's gonna be receiving any admit calls in the upcoming few days? :D

Beth Flye usually doesnt make admit calls except for people getting fullrides and stuff like that. Usually its the assistant adcoms making the calls. So no worries.

I do believe she is making all the calls...however, wikipedia seems to be overstating the numbers by saying hundreds. Maybe a hundred or so but you arent talking about 500 calls being made. Plus they are probably 5 minutes or less each (though I am sure they feel like forever for both parties).

After this entire fiasco, are we back to the status change to 'unknown' meaning your just moments away from a ding and only a phone call means you're in? Are there people who have been admitted and did not receive phone calls? I think there were...on the BW forum at least! Sigh...so confused. and restless.

Internationals in timezones very different than central time will often get emails. Usually those emails specify they didnt call you because of the time change (I believe Gil got one of those). However, if you are in the US you will get calls. Unknown status 95% of the time means ding but occasionally someone does get in after that (no change in that).

I bet they get really careful now, start double checking everything.

I no longer think past behavior correlates with present behavior.
