I was a R1 WL. I am now a ding.

Sorry to hear that! How were you notified? I am a R1 WL and would appreciate any insight. I already checked on my Application Check page and still have the same letter from when I got WL in Dec. Thanks and good luck at other schools!!

I logged into my check status page and saw that my waitlist letter had changed. I didn't get an e-mail. No one notified me that my letter had changed. I found out on my own by logging into my account.

Someone just posted on GW forums that he/she called admin, and they said that they "won't release this week, and haven't decided when to start releasing in the next couple of weeks." Just kinda wondering why this year Kellogg is releasing decisions much later than in past years, where they started releasing on 2/18 or 2/20. Perhaps this indicates a more competitive applicant pool?

There are still phone interviews going on as we can see from posts here and in BW so candidates are still under evaluation for R2. I think it would be logical to start releasing R2 decisions only after all candidates are interviewed and evaluated but I have never been part of an Adcom so I might be wrong.

A new update - I am going mental with this years delayed R2 notifications.

3/3/2010 2:45 PM
Kellogg Will Begin Releasing Rd 2 Decisions Mar 8

The Kellogg School will begin releasing decisions (Admit, Waitlist, Deny) for Round 2 on Monday, March 8. Decisions will be released from that point until the notification deadline of March 29, 2010. Each applicant will be notified via email by the Kellogg School Office of Admissions when a decision has been rendered. After receiving this email, candidates will be able to view their decision on the Check Application Status page located on the Kellogg School’s full-time program’s homepage. Please note we do not post status updates in the Apply Yourself application system.

Kellogg will continue to conduct Round 2 phone interviews throughout the month of March. It is still possible that applicants who received an interview waiver will be contacted, via email, by the office of admissions to schedule a phone interview if additional information would be helpful in rendering a final decision.

Wow, are they reading these forums? Man, I'm getting uber nervous now! I already took next Monday off from work for something else, so I'm gonna be waiting anxiously with my cell phone in my lap and praying that I've been a good little boy.

Good to know that we can be worry-free for a couple more days (at least in regards to Kellogg)

I'm sure they'll still call the admits. If my calculations are correct, they usually send out a batch of admits at the beginning, so if you hear on Monday, it's most likely an admit call. But again, I could be wrong.

My understanding is that everyone receives an e-mail, irrespective of admit/ding/wait-list.

The e-mail would be something like - "wake up its 5 AM, get off your lazy ass and check your status".
