Does anyone know what R2 2009 looked like? I'm beginning to think that R1 is a not a good example as I'm assuming that WL is a less likely option with only R3 left? Does anyone have insights on to how the WL for R2 would work?

Thank you all for announcing yourselves on the board, we have 123 interested...
With 123 total applicants (20%-30%), we expect total of 25-38 admits. (assume traditional % admit from GC)
By my calculations, we are beyond the 50% mark! I believe monday and tuesday are the crucial days for the remaining 40%, with WL later in the week. On the bright side, perhaps they are leaving the best for last ;) perhaps your admit will include a scholarship! Best of luck to everyone!

Here are the stats from R2 so far...
(Week 1, Mon: 3/8) Admit: 0, Ding: 2, WL: 0
(Week 1, Tues: 3/9) Admit: 6, Ding: 4, WL: 0
(Week 1, Wed: 3/10) Admit: 5, Ding: 6, WL: 0
(Week 1, Thur: 3/11) Admit: 2, Ding: 10, WL: 0
(Week 1, Fri: 3/12) Admit: 8, Ding: 3, WL: 0

[R2 TOTAL CURRENT Admit: 21, Ding: 25, WL: 0, Unknown: 77] = 123 ... 17% acceptance rate

Count below is revised...
Here are the stats from R1,
(Week 1, Mon: 12/7) Admit: 1, Ding: 3, WL: 0 %Total_Admitted: 4%
(Week 1, Tues: 12/8) Admit: 2, Ding: 1, WL: 0 %Total_Admitted: 12%
(Week 1, Wed: 12/9) Admit: 5, Ding: 7, WL: 0 %Total_Admitted: 31%
(Week 1, Thurs: 12/10) Admit: 5, Ding: 9, WL: 0 %Total_Admitted: 50% --HALFWAY MARK
(Week 1, Fri: 12/11) Admit: 0, Ding: 3, WL: 0 %Total_Admitted: 50%
(Week 2, Mon: 12/14) Admit: 6, Ding: 5, WL: 0 %Total_Admitted: 73%
(Week 2, Tues: 12/15) Admit: 3, Ding: 5, WL: 0 %Total_Admitted: 85%
(Week 2, Wed: 12/16) Admit: 0, Ding: 0, WL: 0 %Total_Admitted: 85%
(Week 2, Thurs: 12/17) Admit: 0, Ding: 0, WL: 7 %Total_Admitted: 85%
(Week 2, Fri: 12/18) Admit: 2, Ding: 1, WL: 3 %Total_Admitted: 92%
(From 12/18 to 1/11 Admit: 2, Ding: 1, WL: 2 %Total_Admitted: 100%

R1 TOTAL Admit: 26, Ding: 35, WL: 12, Unknown: 11] = 84 .... 30% acceptance rate!

Do you think if we don't hear today, it's pretty much waitlist or ding?

I wouldn't say so. Although those stats are great, and kudos to you for putting together that analysis, I think they way they do their admits is completely random. I have also heard about people last year getting admit calls up until the last notification date. So keep hope alive and good luck!!

I think I know why I haven't been rejected yet....there was some error on Kellogg's side when they were trying to view my uploaded undergrad transcripts. My status was incomplete for a little bit. I bet I am at the back of the "ding" line!

do you guys really think that in the course of a 3 week decision notification window that all the accepts would have went out in the first week? that's close to unrealistic, like someone else said, just enjoy the fact that you don't have a status update email from kellogg in your inbox. no need to fret until March 29

to those that got dings, could you help the rest of those waiting by posting some information on your profile? hopefully this could give us some insight as to what the admissions office is looking for..

Put yourself in the mind of a student application reviewer (which some of you may become). What are the main factors that would cause you to accept or reject a candidate? What would you look for in a candidate? If you had 500 applications to go through, how would you weed out the candidates? Just curious, plus it could be helpful to those applying next year.

Please add me to the roll call stats; I received the unfortunate ding today.

Good luck to all others who are waiting for the results and congratulate to those who have been admitted. Kellogg is a great school and GMAT Club has a great forum community.
