I am surprised, why do they have such a long waitlist? I find more people are waitlisted than being admitted or rejected? What is the likelihood of converting it to an admit?

Accepted today (2 year MBA)! Got the call at 12:30PM EST. Male/USA/710/IB/PE (3 yrs WE)

Fiancee also was accepted on Tuesday (Female/USA/770/MBB - 3 yrs). Looking forward to meeting everyone at DAK. Best of luck to all those still waiting, and congrats to those accepted!

Got my lovely ding this week - just after I sent an email announcing that I got a promotion at work!
I've got to feel good about getting a new job and a promotion and apply again stronger next year .... gmatclub, see you next year unless stan or sloan throws me a last minute interview lifeline...!

I'm not a JD/MBA applicant, but do you think that it's possible that Kellogg has decided that the R2 WLers are all qualified for the program and that now they're waiting on the Law School to make a decision? That would explain the disproportionate number on the WL. Maybe this is Kellogg's way of saying, "Realistically, we won't be able to reach a joint decision with the Law School before March 29, but since we told you you'd have a decision by then, here is is: WL"

You can't draw conclusions about how long the waitlist is based on what's posted online. Internet forums are not a representative sample of the applicant population. And even if it were, with any sample there's always the risk that what you observe in the sample isn't indicative of the population.

I don't think the waitlist this year is much different than any other year, and I don't think it's all that long for a program as (comparatively) small as the JD-MBA program. I'm not sure exactly what % get in off the waitlist generally, but I'd say your chances this year are similar to years past.

And no, I don't think they're just waiting on the law school to make a decision. They've been running the JD-MBA program for a bunch of years now, I think they're able to make decisions in the timeframe they have.

No algorithm, but only one thing from the history data could at least give me a little hope. Someone got admitted at the last day for 2Y program. Wish we all have such good luck.

Was admitted to the JD/MBA program about an hour ago.

It is between that and Booth with $$ for me, and I'm leaning towards booth. I will keep those interested updated on my decisions - hopefully i can get someone else in with my freed spot.

I got the call that I was admitted to the JD/MBA program at about 1:30 CST this afternoon. I'm so psyched!

I am 25/M/780/3.7 Harv/Yale/Pr undergrad/ 3.5 years in management consulting. Good luck to everyone else who hasn't heard yet!

I'm still waiting on Stanford & Columbia and was WL at Booth. Assumed ding from HBS.

Received the email by 4PM CST. They could not reach me and so I called them back.

just checked status 10 minutes ago to find the "congratulations!" message. :-D

funny thing is, i got no email at all (i'm an international applicant), and the status changed after friday 6 pm central time (when i checked at 6 pm it still said "all the elements are complete blah blah").

i got the email asking for a scanned copy of my toefl scores on wednesday morning (central time), replied on wednesday afternoon and the adcom confirmed receipt shortly. didn't hear from adcom again at all the past two days, and was really upset that another weekend was going to be ruined worrying and obsessing about the outcome! good thing i decided to check the status again just now.. now i can finally rest.

i've been lurking on gc for the longest time.. thank you all for the useful info and great advice and passionate discussions, all of which were immensely helpful, or entertaining, or nerve-wracking. thought i'd share my stats: m/asian/760/113 toefl/5.5 years (4 in IB, 1.5 in high-tech industry finance function). the 1y program at kellogg is the only one i applied to (and i barely made the deadline! honestly i don't know how you guys can apply to so many schools).

This is so weird...I know many people that were dinged last week...however, I havent received any news from Kellogg...not sure if there is a pattern or what...

well i received a wait list for the MMM program....

what is the use of a freaking wait list to a program that candidates self-select and apply to?

might have just as well rejected me....

GOD DAMN frustrating....wait list here and at Ross....

so I am there, but not just there enough to be offered admission outright..wt#
