One would think that their systems would be advanced enough to update the database/send email automatically...I think we should view this as a sign of overall disorganization, they could even be working from (gasp) paper!

LOL @ (gasp) paper!!! Honestly, I do find them to be a bit disorganized. I wish there were just one standard date/ time of day to hear from them like it's done at Wharton and some other schools. It really would prevent all this heightened stress levels on the forum and people panicking about phone calls and such. But I guess the system works for them...

The admits have definitely not all gone out yet. I just interviewed yesterday via telephone so unless they were interviewing me for fun  then they are still reviewing apps.

wow! and you're R1?

Yes I'm in R1

Rather disorganized, agree. My interviewer forwarded me in late Nov an email exchange with the adcom initiated mid Nov. He wanted me to do some verifying independently. Apparently they were asking for his interview report to which he responded he sent on the same day of the interview (~26 Oct). The last email was from the adcom on 24 Nov saying that they had checked and found it and that there was just a glitch in their system.

And nope, no word yet for me.

Really sorry to hear!!! But you still have some time for R2 so probably ask some people to read your essays for feedback and see how you can strengthen them for R2. Best of luck!!!

That is pure madness!! Makes people have very little faith in the system if the're so 'all over the place'... but good luck - hope u get that call!!!

International, re-applicant, interviewed end Oct. Still awaiting decision. Last time around, I had no idea these forums existed. Frankly, I think these discussions add to the anxiety...although I am now hooked this discussion :), it doesn't really help my nerves!!

But, like everyone else...still hoping against all odds. I think it is completely premature to speculate about whether all acceptances have been sent out etc. Fact of the matter is, there is no fixed order, no logic to the decision sequence, so I think all those who have yet to hear have every chance of getting the big YES!!

PS - I wish I was Chuck Norris...would have roundhouse kicked my way in :D

so it sounds like dings (sorry to those who got them) were posted online last night with emails going out this morning. I wonder if that means dings are done for the day.

Thanks! Knowing where I am though, it'll probably be just an email or status change for me (hopefully positive :-D).
Congrats on your own admit by the way! :)

Feel tempted to ask my interviewer what the deal with his recommendation was : )...he did offer to answer any questions I had along the application process.

looking at all the posts, it seems the order of admits is either random or related to strength of the application maybe.......doesn't really fit into any pattern so far.
@ankurb.....I know what you said feels good to hear as I am also an intl applicant but gc has a limited sample set....so I am not too sure about your guess :(

I think international that didn't receive the ding yet are between wl and acceptance. It's only a guess, however.

I'm from Brazil and have a friend that also applied. He interviewed before me. I was dinged, but his status remais the same. So it's obvious for me he has great chances to be accepted or put on wl. At least they are thinking about him.

Thanks for the support man :)

So is this the one time you DON'T want an email from AdCom? Sounds like everyone who got an email has been dinged (and some found out before the email!).

Best of luck for other apps to those with dings and hang in there fellow, neurotic waiters! :-D

Just got a call from Kellogg (847) this morning 10 am EST - I'm in!

So, yesterday, I'd been wondering about how Kellogg would turn out - I thought I had a strong application and good grades/GMAT etc, but you never know with b-school applications...and a few of the admits had already heard...

As it turns out, Kellogg may have informed me late, but they did want me! I was also informed in the call about a named scholarship that I had received. Good stuff!

For those that are interested, I'm international / M / mid-700s GMAT, high GPA / 5 yrs WE. The strongest part of my Kellogg application were my essays - primarily because I did the Kellogg app last (so it benefited from the improvements resulting from other apps).

Gotta get through my work-day now somehow! Best of luck to others waiting...

I interviewed off-campus during early Oct, no emails or change in status online yet. I think I'm destined for eternal limbo on the waitlist. Meh. Put me out of my misery, AdCom.
