Does anyone have the questions that the letters or recommendation will need to address? I think that I have one from two years ago but would prefer to see the new version.

For riverripper or other current Kellogg-ians:

For extracurricular activities section in App Part I, am I allowed to put in part-time jobs during college or are they limited to clubs and organizations?

Can't wait to finish the part one even though I know that essays are in part two. :-D

I would limit it to clubs and other organizations, or volunteer activities. If you feel it's important enough to include the part-time work in your app, it would probably be better off in the employment history section.

Thanks, Jerz :-D

I guess I will end up filling the section with lame-o stuff (aka "member" of certain clubs, etc.)

Hope adcom will see beyond that.

Despite Kellogg being my top choice, I've heard Kellogg's essays are good ones to start with and I'll be in for Round 1.

JackWha, I believe you can download a .pdf version of the recommendation form once you open an application account on the Kellogg website. I'd upload it onto the forum but I'm note sure if that's okay.

I looked for it, but I couldn't find it. What page in particular?

Also, any advantage to applying R1 vs. R2? I wanted to do my Kellogg essays first, but the more I learn about Kellogg the more I want this to be my best application.

Hey, I'm in for Round 2. Despite the many years I spent living in Chicago, I've never actually spent any time at Kellogg. I'm on the west coast now, so I'm looking to fly back and check out the program before putting in my app.

Does anyone have any suggestions on good times to be on campus?

FYI: I'm looking to do the health care program.

Good luck everyone.

In for R2. I'm debating applying R1, but will probably give myself a couple of extra months to make it perfect. Good luck all!

Will be submitting Part 1 this week.

FYI - I'm a re-applicant. Increased my GMAT score from mid 600s to a current 710. Let's hope for the best now. Good luck to everyone.

The last week in September or first week in October would be good - the second years won't be too focused on recruiting yet, and the first years will have been around long enough that they have a good feel for what the school and classes like so they can answer your questions better. Or, the end of October and early November - after midterms but before people start getting focused on finals.

I don't know when exactly the deadline is for round 2, so you may be able to do a visit in January before the deadline, but I wouldn't recommend it because a) the weather is not as nice and b) first years will be neck deep in recruiting and probably less open to spending a lot of time talking to prospectives.

Do you think that this is applicable to reapplicants too?

I heard the same as well from the recent Kellog alumni.
I'll be in for Round 1 too.

I'm assuming you mean the round 1 vs. round 2 question? I haven't heard anyone say otherwise for reapplicants, so I would think it's true. The class will not have filled up after round 1 so there's still plenty of room for applicants - and reapplicants - in round 2. It's not until round 3 that space becomes a concern.

Yes, that's what I meant. It is usually a given that in the case of re-applicants, it is better to apply as early as possible. But, given the fact that Kellogg doesn't offer feedback to denied applicants, it is tougher figuring out what could have been done better. So, for those giving it a go the second time around, it might be better to wait till the strongest application possible is ready.

Go to Part 1 of the application. At the bottom of the left menu there should be a link for "Downloadable forms". Click the link and you'll see a link to download the LOR form.

In term of Qs for LOR, nothing out of box.. similar to CBS, actually.

As someone mentioned previously, Kellogg is a good school to start with b/c the essays topics cover other schools' topics as well. So you'll be able to get your thinking going :-D

Jerz or riverripper or other Kellogg-ians:

I've talked to some 2nd year students about RE at Kellogg, and surprisingly, I was told that 1/3 goes into finance, including real estate. I know there is a formal RE Program, in addition to RE Lab course and Club, but nothing that is really exclusive to Kellogg. Can you shed some light on RE curriculum/program @ Kellogg?

As usual, thank you.
